 | Mitch70 (1) 05/31/2008 | This is more of a fun snack candy. Something you'd find in a candy jar that you have when you want that instant candy rush. I've enjoyed this candy in my candy sack as a kid, but I mainly enjoyed it more when I was a kid.

 | vodkaman25 (1) 05/01/2008 | Love them during halloween and had like 150 of them going out on Halloween but as a adult I have no craving for them at all. Most of my review are based on what I liked as a kid.

 | twansalem (44) 04/30/2008 | I realize that these things are little more than sugar, but maybe that's why they're so good.

 | frick35cr (0) 11/08/2005 | There's 2 kinds of smarties so here's what I think of both
The sugar candies: They're ok, I wouldn't buy them but as a kid I always finished them off as part of my halloween candy though (most of the time among the last of it however). They all taste the same and the colour, and taste, is kinda faded but they are alright once in a while, not too often.
Chocolate Smarties: Good quality chocolate inside but not enough of it, the shell - although better tasting than m&m's shell - is too thick. I find m&ms somewhat better but the two candies are extremely similar, right down to their promotions around various holidays.

 | kattwoman (25) 04/08/2005 | halloween is the smarties time of year . it seemed if you trick or treated long enough you would have enough smarties to last until next halloween

 | hotel283 (20) 06/30/2004 | Though not too bad (the candy shell on the ones in Canada isn't bad) but still a poor imitator of M&M's

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 05/25/2003 | These things are great, but I find myself not being able to stop eating them, and I eventually wind up feeling a little ill because of it. I've never eaten enough of them to burn out though.

 | mst3k4evr (1) 05/04/2003 | I used to buy a HUGE bag of these and go through them like they were going out of style. But now, I have basically weaned myself from them. I also used to nibble on them until they got down to the nitty gritty. And when I was younger, my aunt used them to help me learn how to swallow pills. If you like to eat them like you did when you were younger, brush your teeth and brush them good.

 | Redoedo (41) 05/03/2003 | Smarties are not as good as Sweet Tarts, and their taste is a bit bland. However, I will never turn anyone down who offers me a pack of these things.

 | WarMaid (0) 01/31/2003 | There's confusion here, because some people are rating the M&M like candy coated chocolates (found in England and apparently Canada), and some are rating the sugar candies that come wrapped in the little plastic twist. I love those little sugar pellets--it's true they don't have a lot of flavour, but I find them addictive!

 | Tryanythingonce (0) 11/10/2002 | These little choco-tablets used to be much tastier when they were still manufactured by the Roundtree company (in Canada). Since Nestle took over, the candy has become somewhat bland.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (38) 11/28/2001 | Smarties are like micro-sweettarts, but actually chewable from the very beginning. They taste great and are very inexpensive!

 | Frank15 (0) 04/10/2001 | ACK! How can the fourth-worst-candy-ever-created, and the worst candy listed on this site, have so many good ratings here?! Do Smarties have that large a following?! They're chalk with sugar, that's it! And all the colors taste identical, and that single flavor they do have is BAD. Almost as high a rating as SweeTarts... unbelievable! Makes me wonder how large a following the unlisted black-or-orange pseudo-peanut butter things given out at Halloween have....

 | callmetootie (5) 04/06/2001 | Chalky candies, but I can live through these candies unlike other creations out there.

 | raincat (0) 02/19/2001 | This candy played a big part in my childhood. Every single Easter I can remember the "Easter Bunny" had hung a little basket on my doorknob and left a trail of Smarties right from my bedroom door to the living room, leading to a bigger Easter basket. I loved this, and so did my brother. I remember us yelling excitedly at each other not to step on the others' Smarties, and racing to be the first to pick up their trail.
I don't let myself have them very often anymore, but they always tempt me when I see the barrells of them in the bulk foods dept.

 | wanna (0) 11/17/2000 | Smarties are hella good. It sucks though because they don't sell it in California. They mostly have it in Canada, so whenever my friend goes up there, she brings hella Smarties back. I think Smarties are better than M&Ms.

 | alicat (3) 10/09/2000 | Asprin. That is what these kind of remind me of. They are little powder bits of sugar in a pill form. They come in different colors yet they all taste the same, like sugar. They don't offer much.

 | Spiralingmarce (0) 07/28/2000 | Not too bad. I just don't like the chewy ones.

 | Munson (8) 06/29/2000 | Smarties always reminds me of my childhood. To this day, I don't eat chocolate and so when I was a kid, Smarties was one of the few candies I would eat after going trick or treating. Who among us didn't put the entire roll of smarties in their mouth instead of eating them one at a time?

 | PoorOldEdgarDerby (4) 06/26/2000 | The giant M&M good but mostly just for the novelty of trying a "foreign" M&M the shell however is lacking in comparison, it's too thick and the flavors are all wrong. Nifty little tube container though.
