I did not like his strategy or attitude. He admitted he is worthless and did not want to do anything and was sure that his charisma would take him to the end. The only reason I am giving him a 2 and not a 1 is because he defended Kelly at the final tribal council

What a tool. His whole strategy was to be so charming that people wouldn't notice that he never lifted a finger to do anything. I don't think that it is in any way admirable that he was so honest about his laziness either. I interpret it as like saying "Yeah, So what if I AM lazy? I'm such a fantastic guy that it doesn't matter."

I found Gervase very funny and entertaining. He made no bones about who he was and palyed it straight the whole time.

Gervase, you were fun... but lazy. That'd get you 3 stars, but I've given you a "bonus star" because I LOVED that little speech of yours when you cast your vote for Kelly in the final episode. Kelly did deserve to win; Sue was being a sore loser!

Gervase was awesome. I like his personality and his ideas about certain things. His strategy was funny too, interesting how it worked so well! Too bad he couldn't get a good alliance going with Pagong.

From a retired Green Beret paratrooper, I never ate a rat, and I guess we'd have to lose the war if I had to. I did not see Rudy eating rats either. In spite of his rat-eatin' ways, with a little motivation, I believe Gervase has a lick of promise. He's lazy, but sincerely honest about it. I think he would have been liked better and succeeded more on BIG BROTHER...

A**hole plain and simple. He got Joel kicked off the show for what HE started and he made it almost to the end. just an a**hole. MOO.

I loved Gervase's speech towards Susan and Kelly at the end! Now towards Kelly, he is what u call a true friend!

Sorry to see him go. He was likeable, if irresponsible, and seemed to have a pretty good heart. I loved watching him try to eat those bugs. He also earned big points for his closing speech defending Kelly from Susan's nasty comments -- "Where I come from, they call that a SORE LOSER." Was anyone else expecting him to say something besides "sore loser"?

Good riddance. There was no way this guy would have made it to the end unless he won every immunity round, too many enemies and never tried to befriend anyone to protect himself.

I don't have a clue why any woman would be stupid enough to hook up with this loser. Gervase is sexist, lazy, irresponsible, self-absorbed, and downright annoying. I couldn't believe that he left a woman who was going to give birth to his child in order to be on "Survivor." (Was it my imagination or did he have to think hard before deciding to call his newborn's mother?) The worst part is that this jerk is responsible for three other children as well. The poor kids are the ones who are really playing the game "Survivor."

No, he doesn't have that Survivor attitude, he isn't spearing fish, building fires cooking rice..but he admits it. He openly wonders why the Hell he is still on the island. I love him. I think his personality is key. Everyone knows that he isn't fully contributing to the survival of the team in a physical sense, but in some way, is charm seems to be a key..something they need. And I can't even tell you how psyched I was when he won the rowing competition! Long Live Gervase!

If the rumors are right and Gervase wins, what a great story that makes: CBS is setting him up as the "lazy guy with the great personality," so, if he wins, the upsetting/entertaining commentary on modern society is that charisma means more than hard work and ability. It's a great way for CBS to ensure that "Survivor" continues to attract attention as a reference point for people who want to argue about what it takes to be successful these days. Gervase is definitely amusing. I laughed when he tried rat meat for the first time and, realizing it tasted pretty good, said something like, "We gots to get us some more rats TONIGHT! It's on, to the break of dawn, like hot buttered popcorn!"
