I loved the guy!  He didn't take no crap form nobody!  For being in his 70's he was in great shape.  Even though he never had a chance of winning,  I couldn't help but root for the old man.  Tough as nail that Rudy.

I cant understand why he was so popular. He was rude and obnoxious.

It is incredible how an 71 year old man can be on a show like Survivor. He is in inspiration and I am so impressed with that. That being said, I don't think he was the best player, strategy wise and just flew under the radar. He was hiding behind Sue and Hatch and let them take all the bullets. Maybe it was smart for him as he was an early target, but I was not too interessed in his game play.

Let us all salute Rudy. A very valiant effort both times (S1, S8) and I still think he deserves the million $.

He's pretty much Rich's B***h but he was a funny character.

Rudy was a horrible person.

Even though I did not always agree with his beliefs, I respected his honesty. Thought he would go all the way. I often wonder if he had one that last immunity instead of Kelly, if the over all outcome of the show would not be completely different.

i liked his candidness during the show.

This guy was the funniest of all survivors to watch. He was so cool that Howard Stern had a song made about him. I'd right more but "I dunno". In all seriousness he is a fine man of integrity who served his country with honor. I respect the man.

Why do people like this guy so much? He is from here, so he is the great hero. I can't stand him. He is stupid(I dunno. I dunno. I dunno.) and rude and obnoxious. The stupid stuff he says, like that, "Kids need a father around to smack them in the head sometimes." Nice parenting skills. he was Richard's little b!%@# the whole time.

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy... rude is in your name for a reason. Rude you are, and somewhat mean. On the other hand, however, you were hilarious--what can I say? Gotta' love that.

This guy is as funny as hell!

I don't really like how he spoke his mind, usually insulting other people. But, he's a military hero, so I have to give him credit for that.

Although being in the Navy he was a "water boy" (heh, heh) to the Army, he's my type. Airborne, Special Forces...the only way to go...

He annoyed me, but I loved him. His remarks were so old school and it was like watching my own father. I got a lot of enjoyment and laughs from Rudy. Thanks Rudy and you do our older Americans proud.

Funny - but insulting to a flaw! Comment about the bible was uncalled for and you would think a man that's 72 wouldn't be going around saying he "hates" someone, which he did to Stacy. Even if he didn't like her, it was wrong for him to be saying it so harshly. I would of been embarrassed if my father came across as so narrow minded and cold.

Gotta root for the guy - he's funny without trying to be and is smart enough to keep his mouth shut most of the time. I couldn't stop laughing during the last show - does this guy have any short term memory at all? GO RUDY!

Isn't it amazing that Rudy is one of the final four?...He is not a back-stabber, he has been honest throughout the competition, he has a dry sense of humor, he calls a spade a spade (or a gay a queer), and he probably one of few that could survive on a real desert island situation...

He's a crusty old man from an entirely different generation than the rest of his "fellow" castaways. He reminds me of my grandfather and for that reason I am compelled to root for him. (I really wanted Colleen to win but Rudy is now my favorite, by default).

I am a huge fan of Rudy. I think he is so funny but what is so funny about him is that he doesn't even try to be funny. It is just the way he is.

Rudy is priceless.

Like everyone else, I thought that Rudy would be one of the first people voted off the island, but he is now one of the primary reasons that I keep tuning in each week. His quips are incredibly funny, particularly those about his relationship with Richard. Unfortunately, CBS can't orchestrate weather conditions because I would love to see a sudden decrease in temperature and then have Rudy tell us how he was going to explain to his buddies why he had been cuddling with Richard to increase their body temperature. "The queer was the fattest and hairiest, so I figured he would keep me the warmest. I'm no homo or nothing."

I found him a bit annoying in the beginning, but I have really grown to like Rudy. He is intelligent, well meaning and completely honest. You may not agree with what he has to say, but that isn't going to stop him from shairing his views. That is admirable.

This guy is hilarious. As an ex-Navy Seal, he's got the whole jar-head, intolerant, military demeanor, but at the same time you get the sense that underneath his crusty shell he's actually a pretty nice guy. CBS is getting a lot of mileage out of his great one-liners, especially the ones about Richard. When Richard, for instance, decided to walk around naked one morning, Rudy said something like, "If my wife asked what happened today I guess I'd have to say there was some queer guy walking around bare-assed." And how funny was it to see Rudy rubbing sunscreen on Richard's back?
