Don't worry! Mark Burnett can clone Survivor's most popular contestant. Just look at Rogar, Pascal, Jake, Big Tom, etc. I bet these guys have a little rudy in their personality. We don't need the old guy anymore. Isn't Rudy hosting Combat Missions?

If you lose, you lose, don't come back to another location.

Rudy is the "host" of Combat Missions, so he's still doing reality TV. Plus, while I liked his strategic integrity, I think his honesty was sometimes a little too abrupt and blatant. He's more of a grouch than anything else.

I don't think it is ever going to happen for any of the future seasons of Survivor. He has his own show on USA now, Combat Missions, and it rocks!

No way. Rudy's contribution of cooking, was something anyone could of provided. The ONLY person who should be invited back, in my opinion, is B.B. He was someone who really contributed, as well as, displayed valuable survivor skills. I know if I were stranded on a island somewhere, I would pick SURVIVAL over HUMOR any day. Lastly, I seriously doubt he would last as long in Australia, as he did on Boreno.

It's a sad shame that Rudy did not win the first show. At least give him another chance, he is the best.

Rudy needs to take his Geritol so he won't forget you can't take your hand off when told so.

rudy would make a really good survivor to add to this next serias

I think Rudy should have won the first time. I can't believe the naked gay guy won!

Survivor II needs t have its own dynamics ... dont try to tap into the personalities from Survivor I, esp when a person who is "kept over from last Survivor" could deprive us of THE NEXT RUDY by taking his spot as the 16th contestant ...

Clearly most of the other people who have left opinions on this idea really disagree with me, but I feel strongly that Rudy should be allowed to participate in Survivor II. First of all, he's a known commodity. People like him, and he's funny. We know that already - there's no risk. If the other cast members turn out to be clones of the idiots they put on "Big Brother," at least Rudy will keep the show from being a complete waste. Second of all, what am I going to do if I can't get my weekly dose of a confused, crusty old man saying hilarious things like, "I'm going to have to tell my wife that there was a queer running around bare-assed." Rudy provided many of the highlights of the original show, and it would be a good move to introduce some quality continuity to Survivor II.

I like Rudy as much as the next guy. Particularly in the later episodes, he offered the best and funniest soundbites. Nevertheless, he had his chance and the Australia show will offer new personalities. In addition, as someone who has already gone through it before, he would have an unfair and distinct advantage over the other competitors.

There will defintiely be another character that is as entertaining and endearing and stupid as Rudy on the next show, so there is noreason to bring him back.
magellan 08/30/2000
I don't think he should go. He had his chance - now it's someone else's turn. By him going again as a contestant, it would totally mess up the dynamic of the group - plus, it would be an unfair advantage. Maybe they could bring him on as some kind of advisor - the wizened old guru who every week offers one piece of advice to the current cast.
upchuck 08/30/2000
Rudy is a "lemming"...he would follow everyone over the cliff. Rudy had his 15 minutes of fame and that is fine, but it would be sad to see him shed his suit and come out of the closet just to win the $1M.
SamIAm 08/30/2000
YES YES YES! I want Rudy in Australia. I think it is pretty funny that most viewers were ready to boot him off of the Island after the first few episodes, and he became the hero at the end with everyone rooting for him. He is honest, true to his word, a team player and an all around good guy who deserves a second chance! Of course, all current Survivor fans would be rooting for him from the beginning and I am not sure how that may change the dynamic..Who cares, send Rudy "Down Under."
