Also let the audience choose the punishment for the losers. I favor hanging, myself.

How is using auto voters to decide the winner an improvment?
AmazingMole 01/16/2003
This is a bad idea. The TV audience is very biased. They are not going to vote for the most deserving winner. Judging from message boards and CBS popularity polls... These guys are going to choose an Under the Radar contestant with a pretty face. Another reason is contestants are going to have the relatives call in. It happen before. Besides the final tribal council is the most exciting part of the show. I love to see bitter people vent their rage on the final two..... If CBS takes that away, I am going to switch to Will & Grace.

The audience couldn't possibly do any worse at selecting a winner than the castaways themselves, so why not?
Jason1972 12/13/2002
No way. Then you'll get friends and relatives call again and again, leave that to American Idol.
ezinma 04/02/2002
Comment polls are enough for the audience. Besides, we're in no position to judge when we only see one hour of 72 hours those castaways spend with each other.

Here again, too many logistical problems The show is not done live, how would the audiance votes matter?
ErictheFederal ist 04/03/2001
Maybe that would be a good idea...

I think the audience has absolutely no idea what kind of strengths and weaknesses these members have without being on the show. The audience doesn't see the rest of the 23 hours during the day, everyday that they are there, right! How could we make a fair judgement as to who deserves the money if we aren't there to participate.

NO WAY!!!!! That'd really suck!!!!! For one, it would decrease strategy and mindgames with the survivors. Another reason is that it would screw up the taping b/c survivor is taped long before the finale is aired. And last, but certainly not least!!!!! If we are down to two people, like Kelly and Rich, I would know who would win before the show was aired. Kelly ofcourse b/c Rich could only get the gay male vote b/c very few of us like Rich. It would suck b/c we'd all know who'd win.

I think that the last two people should just fight to the death...
brandt 09/18/2000
We do not have to survive with these people.
SamIAm 08/31/2000
No way. I think the jury is the best way to go. These are the people who worked right along with them and have the most information to vote. Also, the final selection was exciting to watch..the finale would lose its edge without that decision making process. All of the feelings were still fresh on all of the contestants minds (obviously this is true for Sue!)..they deserve to make the final decision.
kevi9896om 08/31/2000
Unless you are a survivor you d not have the information to vote ... leaving a decision like this to the audience is a HORRIBLE idea ...
Munson 08/30/2000
In theory, this might make some sense. But, like with an increased on-line component, it is impossible. The show is taped months ahead of time and the entire flow of series would be disrupted if we got to the end of the time in the Outback (which was months ago) and then jumped to today where the audience would vote.
