The moniker "girl next door" fits her like a glove. I agree that her talent has only been scratched and unless she has a change of heart after her kids are grown, we may only have our memories to reflect upon.

I pretty much stopped liking her after the 80's. If she would do something else worthwhile, I might change my mind.

There's just something about Elisabeth Shue- her beauty, her "girl next door" personality, a gentle warmness, something that just makes her so likable no matter who she is playing. She's a very talented actress, and I'd really like to see her career continue to flourish in the future. She gave a wonderful performance in "Leaving Las Vegas". She was also impressive in "The Saint" and "Palmetto". I can still remember her from the whacky "Adventures in Babysitting" and as Michael J. Fox's mom in "Back to the Future II and III". She's a wonderful actress who deserves leading role after leading role.

She first came to the MooCow's attention in Adventures in Babysiting, a far-fatched comedy/fantasy that was all but held afloat by Ms. Shue's presence. Udder good performances since include Heart and Souls, Leaving Las Vegas, Deconstructing Harry, Palmetto, and Cousin Bette. Ms. Shue cowbines sweetness, a perky girl-next-door prettiness, and intense emotional skills. She is cownted among the premier lead actresses of her generation - lets hope she finds a role that showcases her extraordinary talents soon! :=8D

One of the absolute best looking actresses of her generation. Unfortunately her career hasn't lived up to her talent or her looks. Still she'll always be one of my favorites! Hopefully we'll still have some good performances out of this hottie!

Elizabeth Shue should walk away on this list in the top 10, because who we thought we the queen of comedies in the 80's, is still a great actress in the 90s, and still acting in the 00's. Adventures and Babysitting was like the best movie of the 80s!

She was pretty damn good in Leaving Las Vegas, even if the movie was crap when compared to John O'Brien's book.

i've always like elizabeth shue. from "call to glory" to "the saint". in "the saint" and "leaving las vegas" she made the movie(s). that says a good bit since i am a nicolas cage fan. absolutely beautiful is the only way to describe her.

I've always been a big Elisabeth Shue fan. She first captured my eye in The Karate Kid (I saw it for the first time the night before the PSATs and had trouble sleeping). And then in Cocktail, she looked absolutely incredible and I will always stop to check out this movie each time it is on because of her. In terms of acting ability, she really showed how good she was in Leaving Las Vegas with Nicholas Cage. She was tremendous.

I went to the Toronto premere of *Leaving Las Vegas* and almost walked out because it was SO damn bad. I just don't get it.

I liked her since Karate Kid!
