I have to admit....that I did not 'want' to like this woman, but I can't help not to! I find her very entertaining, and yes, I do mean funny. She gets me cracking up so hard sometimes! Can she dance...? No, but I still think it's funny that she has the guts to do it. I find her brilliant, original, friendly, highly sensitive & insecure, kind, generous and caring. She kind of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland! HAHA! I find her very inquisitive and a curious one. She is very alert, and a very good listener, and fascinated with people...especially if they are eccentric or have a lot of quirks. She is non-judgmental herself, so don't judge her. And certainly don't judge her for being a lesbian. I mean, she didn't choose to be one, she was born that way. God just had a different plan for her, you have to trust Him if you say you are Christian. I think Ellen seeks constant entertainment and excitement in her life, and thrives on mental challenges, as evidenced by her quizzes and games on her show. Her wife is beautiful! She is an impeccably honest, decent human being, with feelings. And she loves animals and basically she loves people in general. She thrives on gossip however she can pull it off in a positive way, as opposed to others! She supports highly constructive changes, and we need that! She deserves some credit for that. I don't think this woman would hurt a fly! I think she is a free spirit who avoids narrow minded people and gravitates towards others who thrive to make constructive changes in this world. I think in her private life she is romantic, extremely trusting, and more vulnerable than anyone can imagine, and basically detached in an uncanny way. She tries to genuinely 'understand' people and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body, in my opinion. She is a creative and fascinating woman, and an inspiration to everyone around her.

I did not think Ellen was very funny before she suprised the world and told us she was a lesbian. Boy did I have to pick my self of the floor when I heard the news;)Her sitcom was bad and the new talk show is not any better. She did a nice job in Finding Nemo but she had good material.

I don't have anything against Ellen her self it is what she represents, I'm a Christian and I know God didn't make us like that. She has a soul and God loves her just like He does me. I've been a viewer of WHNT all my life , I'm 37 now. Everyday that is the only channel I watch except when her show comes I turn it off. I had rather see the NEWS first at 4:30.
crpa7340om 11/27/2005
She sucks
GenghisTheHun 08/18/2005
I don't get it. She must get the high ratings because of the sexual business.
Banshee 08/07/2005
She is better served as a stand up comedian. Can be absolutely hilarious. Her lesbianism is her business, I just enjoy her comedy. And that's how it should be.
naima 07/16/2005
Why are you people saying shes bad just because she a lesbian! Shes really really funny! Im not one to say bad things about people, but those guys are horrible people.
wnbreeze 05/17/2005
Such a funny woman! And brave too!
pwright1 05/15/2005
Naturally funny, love her talk show and seems very warm and a nice person. Being a lesbian, who cares. Her show is good clean fun and she makes people laugh which is always a good thing.
X Factor Z 04/01/2005
I never could stand this lesbo. Why is it that she dates prettier girls than what most men even dream about?
Jennyfromdablo k 03/12/2005
It's not like Ellen chose to be gay. Kinda strange if she did. I mean risking her previous show and all. Kinda strange if you actually think people chose to be gay for you to hate them. Oh, by the way... drop dead.
Maomania 02/27/2005
She is not the best actress in the world, she is more of a comedian. But her performance in Finding Nemo was outstanding and I have to give her at least a 4 for that.
bb_753 01/29/2005
Funnies woman alive. Really, Really funny.
jhoyte 12/28/2004
Ellen is down to earth, real, and that's what we need. Just put all your guards and opinions to the side and enjoy yourself. Now that's fun, as we can see she is very funny! Signed JH/Houston Texas 12/28/2004

Ellen is talented and obviously loves what she does. On her talk show, she makes her audience comfortable and although the monologue does not last long, it it funny! If she was an awful comedian as many people critique her, her standup shows would not sell, her DVD would not sell, her books would not sell, etc. People like her material, and as she keeps it up she will only be more successful! People who complain about her coming out publicly or simply being a lesbian- think about it! She is in the public eye, it had to happen sometime! She could either 1- Do what she did, get it done and over with by coming out nationally; or 2- hide her sexuality forever, being miserable because she was afraid of what people think. I believe that she made the right choice.

Hi, this is Ellen DeGeneres... Yes I am a lesbian. I think Cheney's daughter is sexy. I am better in bed than men. I know how to stick a vibe in your hole, it would be better to get an extra extra D battery for the vibe... to get more pleasure. Oh yes, yes, yes. I love licking puskittensy... but please shave, I don't like it bush.
Chesterfield 09/30/2004
Ellen's show is a reflection of Hollywood's insistance upon placing as many homosexuals in our living rooms as they possibly can. They only represent 3% of the population, but populate a vast array of TV content.
Mr.Political 09/29/2004
People like Ellenn Digeneres are what keep me from labeling all liberals evil. As a conservative, I obviously disagree with her politics and her homosexuality. However, as an entertainer I find her very funny, occasionally.
scarletfeather 09/27/2004
I didn't watch her TV program much, so I can't comment on her acting skills. I will say that her talk show is fun and entertaining. But as evidenced by the previous comment on Ellen Degeneres, some people are so bigoted they feel she should simply wear sackcloth and ashes or climb under a rock because she happens to be gay. Being honest about her sexuality makes her nasty..pushing her immorality in front of you. She is nowhere near as vocal about her sexual orientation as Rosie O'Donnell. The reviewer also threw in a crack at Bill Clinton, whom fundamentalists dub as the antichrist. From this point of view, anyone deviating from the white-bread, white button down shirt, conservative Protestant Republican point of view is destined for hell's flames and thus totally worthless. What a shame that these self-righteous types don't seem to take Jesus and the Apostle Paul seriously, who advocated love, forgiveness, and tolerance.
Solenoid DH 09/27/2004
Self-centered people are bad enough. But this one pushes her immorality right in your face. Like Mr. Clinton, she's very proud of her nastiness.
break me shake me 09/15/2004
gay or not she's awsome!
southparker9 08/24/2004
Isn't much of an actress. Very funny at times.
kolby1973 05/12/2004
Very original and I love her comedy. She does great in comedy roles. I can't remember a time I saw her in a drama, but I don't imagine it would be that great. I also think Ellen has extremely beautiful eyes. Good dancer, too ! Go Ellen.
Count Jacula 05/11/2004
Boring, I hope she never hosts another Acadamy Awards show in her life. In fact I would'nt mind if her show was cancelled tommorow. She really pushed my buttons when she insisted on coming out as a lesbian on her show, like she was trying to prove something. The only thing she wound up proving was how easy it is to lose a show when you insist on pushing your sexual preference on your show. I have nothing against lesbians, I just find Ellen unfunny and unattractive. There are a million other people who are more deserving of there own show. Oh yea, I'm glad Ann Hesche dumped her, she is too hot to be on Ellens arm.
ASWASAl 05/06/2004
On day time tv. she is boring as dirt. In a comedy club, the best time ever! I also like her in Pixar's Finding Nemo!
minkey 04/26/2004
The first time I saw Ellen was several years ago when she had a commercial for her tv show. She was jumping up and down on a bed, yelling My name is Ellen I'm on after Roseanne! My name is Ellen I'm on after Roseanne! She could be the funniest, smartest person in the world for all I know, but once I saw that commercial I remember thinking that there is no way I will ever watch this colossal moron.
BlairWitch187 04/24/2004
I think Ellen is pretty damn funny. She did a really good job as Dory. I think people need to stop making such a big deal out of the fact that she's a lesbian. If that's the way she is, then so be it. Leave the woman alone. I at least give her credit that she had the courage to come out and make it public. That really does take a lot of courage. You don't know how the world will take it. But I have a lot of respect for her and I think she has much courage. Power to you, Ellen!
coleslough 04/22/2004
and actually not a bad loking lez
btvs2887 03/18/2004
Funny as hell. Ellen is the funniest person in america. I think people just need to stop being so self-righteous. Lay off the exspressos and take a chill pill. Deal with your own lives and impurities before you judge others.
handy 03/13/2004
Ellen is very funny and talented. She was great in Finding Nemo. My kids really liked her as Dory.
ih8becker 11/16/2003
Many people criticized her for coming out but I really don't care. She is a very humorous actress and has alot of talent.
racingmomof3 10/29/2003
Ok comedian don't agree with her most times
nicrules_007 09/08/2003
Hilarious! She is really funny!
BlondAtHeart65 07/23/2003
the only thing ive seen her in was "Finding Nemo" where she played Dory the blue fish- and the whole time i was thinking "they shouldve gotten Lisa Kudrow to play the blue fish" and no offense but being a lesbian does not help. she should try to get converted into a heterosexual.
mochi22 06/04/2003
I like and respect her. Loved her as the girl fish in Finding Nemo. She's very funny.
tj92101 05/20/2003
Another bad actor/bad politician.
JeanMachine1 05/18/2003
She's one of those rare women that actually made it in Hollywood, too bad she had to be a lesbian and push all that on us too--I mean if you want to push your stuff on people that's fine but you just have to be prepared to deal with the backlash--which is sure to come in conservative, Christian America.
Redoedo 03/04/2003
Ellen DeGeneres is one of the most clever comedians of our time. I respect her creativity and it seems that she is really dedicated to each show that she does. However, I am not homophoebic, but I really did not believe that the entire world had to know that Ellen was a lesbian. Overall, she seems like a really sweet, sincere and genuine person, and I have a lot of respect for her as a comedian, but I believe that she had a few altier motives when she announced that she was gay.
1234 01/10/2003
Using your show as a platform is not acting. Needs more substance in her life so that her sexuality is no longer the sole focus. It only hurts her.
MooCowMoo 11/18/2002
I feel sorry for Ellen, I really do. She got barbqued over her sexual orientation, not her abilities, of which there are some. I think Ellen is a good comedian, and an ok tv actress - I doubt she cud handle the stage, or a serious moovie role, but in the right environment Ellen is ok. Shame she lost Anne Heche, that's gotta suck. As a comedian, I think Ellen is pretty good, thought she's no Seinfeld or Carlin. Shame she got toasted over bs.
Surfn 10/28/2002
Someone should kick this @$#%& in the teeth !
PhillipW 01/15/2002
Another great lesbian, and funny too
CastleBee 08/06/2001
Oh, who didn't know or suspect Ellen might have been gay even before she made it the focus of her career. More importantly, who REALLY cared? I would have rated her a five easily back when I first saw her comedy act - it was one of the funniest I'd ever seen. Especially the thing about whether or not flies, that ended up on airplanes, were confused when they ended up in a completely different place. She continues to say that she realized it was okay at the end of the flight when she saw other flies in the airport with name signs - Ha!. As a comedian, she was/is witty, original and her act was clean on the level of Sinbad or Cosby. As an actress I think she has pretty much bombed. Her sexuality is her business, I just wish she had not made it the country's as well. I would feel that way whether she were straight, gay or whatever...it's called TMI - TOO MUCH INFORMATION!
ninetwoseven 06/18/2001
Ellen D. is not a godd actress at all, and even though it helped her psychologically perhaps, coming out of the closet truly damaged her career.
swordo3174 06/15/2001
I don't care what people do in their own homes, but when they try to push their way, as normal, into my home, I resent it to high heaven! Go back into your home, and stay the hell out of mine!
Moviefan 04/24/2001
I thought her show was very funny, and her on screen coming out is a big step for television, and i think it sparked this whole gay fad on tv. I haven't seen her in any movies though. As far as what she said about Bush, that's her opinion and you shouldn't judge her acting by what she thinks of republicans
cathyzj 03/27/2001
I think she's talented, no doubt that she's funny. But I think she made a huge story out of her homosexuality.... it's fine being gay as long as you feel ok with it, but hey, who cares ANYWAY? The only thing she managed to do with her braveness was destroying her talent and her career. Not because it's something bad, but because Hollywood isn't ready yet to deal with that...
souphead 03/16/2001
All the power to this lady! Everyone seems to be dissing her about her sexuality but if she can admit to it and still be happy and people still be happy with her (at least most of you) than you go girl! Her acting skills are another story. "Ellen" was an alright show although the episode when she came out of the closet was hilarious. "EDtv" was an alright movie and she didn't have that big of a role in it. She did perform well with Sharon Stone in "If These Walls Could Talk 2." She's a great stand-up comedian and only gets points off for her one mistake. Three words. "The Love Letter." Absolutely one of the WORST movies of the year but other than that, keep it up Ellen.
