DON'T INTERVIEW/APPLY TO WORK HERE!I would normally never take time to do this, but I want to prevent a future career disaster from occurring. My senior year of undergrad, I was offered (in writing) after a series of interviews, lunches, etc. a full time position as an account exec at Communikatz, Inc. As a native of south Florida, I formally agreed and planned for about a half of a year to begin work upon graduation. About 5 months after maintaining communication, making living arrangements and formally (in writing) accepting the position, Communikatz pulled back on their offer – not because of anything I did but because, they said, they lost the account they planned on me working on. This decision not only prevented me during that time from pursuing other career options, but set me back financially as I made living arrangements to reside near the office.I just recently received an e-mail from the Career Resource Center, as I am still apparently on their e-mail distribution, indicating that Communikatz, Inc. is looking to fill a new spot. At UF, we are taught when we receive a formal invitation to join a company, it is unethical to accept a position and then decline. The same should be accepted of the organization hiring. I feel it is not only unwise for UF to endorse this company, but unethical. Knowing this --prepare yourself! Don't interview!
