Commercialism at its finest. No sooner do we get the Halloween candy on special in one bucket on All Saint's Day, we get Santa and all the craptastic nonsense scattered all over the place. Stores don't even wait until closer to Thanksgiving anymore like I remember from my youth.

I'm use to it I guess. But this year especially I have noticed sales and decorations way before halloween.

What time the holiday shopping season starts doesn't effect me. I'm a last minute shopper, and won't find myself in a store amongst holiday shoppers until December anyways.

it may start earlier but that does not mean that i have to go out shopping. I save money all year for the holiday gift buying. start after Thanksgiving and hope to be done within one week of Christmas. we all have our own way of holiday shopping. to each their own i say. update: I was in Wal-mart to day and they were playing that elevator Christmas music. and having a clearance on all Halloween stuff. sigh....

it starts earlier every year. halloween appeared in august here. the thing is that by the time halloween nears you're already sick of seeing everything and it takes all the newness and enjoyment out of it.

What's really irritating is you see Christmas decorations in the store, and it's not even Thanksgiving yet.

My aunt just sent me a Home Depot gift card for next Easter. Either she's planning on coming here, or she's planning on croaking. Either way, I'm using the card to buy bars for my windows.

I'll buy a Christmas present or two rather early if I see something that just strikes me as being the right thing, but I have no desire to get into full blown Christmas shopping mode until about Dec. 15, maybe even as late as Dec. 23 if I'm really feeling lazy.

Maybe your shopping season does. Mine starts about mid afternoon, the day before. Of course, that explains why I've been known to give motor oil and beef jerky as gifts. There's not a great selection at the all-night Exxon station.

A friend of mine at work has already gotten his girlfriend her Christmas gift today. Another co-worker started shopping for her family shortly after last Christmas. Might make things less stressful in the long run, but really, I'd like to enjoy the other days out of the year, too . . .

My first Christmas off in a few years.. I'm going to be boycotting shopping... I hate the commercialization of the season. I'm cranky thinking about it. One year I spent 600$ on presents for kiddies.. and you know what they did? They played with a bbq prong and empty boxes and crayons. Lesson learned :)

This one really annoys me! It seems like each year the stores push back the begining of the holiday just a little more. We are now seeing decorations and holidays specific gifts in september. SEPTEMBER! Before I leave this earth it will start the day after christmas.
