Too much roids, not enough fun...

I think the Tour de France is like any other event...if you haven't seen it live or understand it, then you won't be interested in it. It is a grueling strategic event and very physically and mentaly challenging. OLN has done a wonderful job over the years with its coverage not only of the race itself but of the dimentions of the sport of cycling. The mountain stages are the more fun to watch on television but any stage live is interesting in person. The bad thing is you pick your spot on the street hours before they come through and at 30-45 mph...its over quick!

After seeing Lance win so many of them....it's not that interesting to me. Sure it's a great event and it really takes athleticism...it's just not my thing....that's why it's a 3

With Lance Armstrong winning every time, it's just decent.

Impressive and gruelling event, but not much of a spectator sport, at least on television. I've spoken to one person who has seen it live, and they rave about it, but I have a hard time envisioning how a single point of view of the race can make it better.

i understand how grueling the stages are, but if i had to watch it my eyelids would have to be permanently propped open with toothpicks. the nightly updates i get from espn are more than sufficient; if i had to watch the entire event i would die of boredom.

Lance has done the US proud over the recent years and is an inspiration to everyone. Great to follow the course through all that pretty scenery, too.

you can't watch it live in the states... and that's a blessing! How long does this drag on, a year? As if anybody cared...

They should rename this the Lance Armstrong event (that happens in France), because my man Lance dominates!

excuse me while I yawn...

It is a great event, one can see the real spirit of challenge and human effort towards improvement. Even if physical effort is at the top, riders can stand it perfectly. As former amateur cyclist, I can say through TV it looks harder than it really is. Even so, there are ways to reduce effort, like the the bikes my company markets, enven if it is still not UCI approved for official competition. Jorge Tamayo www.rotorbike.com

Four things work against it as a entertaining and exciting sporting championship. 1) This is not a sport. 2) It in France. 3) Its boring. 4) Its in France.

This is a very cool event and the cyclists are in incredible physical condition. Yet, it is a pretty tough sport to sit through on TV. I think I'd rather watch Breaking Away.

Great epic sporting event. I think that this year's result was an amazing story of heart and courage. Lance Armstrong was definitely the athlete of the year, fighting back from cancer and proving his physical, mantal and emotional strength to the entire world.

Some of the highlights are exciting, but does anyone - other than diehard cyclists - actually watch the day-to-day race?
