Somethings about her scare me (her religious zeal for one) but I do like her stance on economic principles (refusing bailout money) and supporting a conservative party candidate vs a liberal hack job of a GOP candidate for the NY23 special election.

If the rest of the country could see what she has done to our state, you would see she is just another populist politician. She gives a great speach, but then again so does Barack Obama.
Josiah Schmidt 10/29/2009
The highest unfavorables from Republicans, the image of a quitter, and the perception that she's not very bright, all make Sarah Palin a non-starter.
lps4368 10/25/2009
She will sway voters, but if elected will end up being another Bush/Obama.Completely incompetent, don't waste your vote
py46 10/07/2009
Oh, please, she needs to be shot out of cannon to a remote island and forgotten about. She's ruining the Republican Party's reputation with her stupid ideas and thoughts. She's also an animal slaughterer and she's going to single handedly destroy the ecosystem.
Sherii 09/24/2009
She would make a good VP, but needs to get more experience in DC before jumping into the drivers seat. She shows promise, but needs to learn how the system works so she won't make uneducated mistakes while learning. I'd like to see her as a VP with Ron Paul as the top candidate.
jjal 09/23/2009
I think she will bring back the true values of America
McNutt 09/08/2009
Sarah Palin and I probably would vote the same 99 times out of 100 on issues. I like her and think she did a phenomenal job as govenor. However for the good of the party and a breath of fresh air, she needs to sit a couple plays out. Personally I would like to see her as a senator. But for now until AT LEAST 2016 she needs to stay out of the presidential running business, but still find some office or position to influence washington from.

The one thing here we all have in common is OUR RIGHT TO OUR OPINION. Unfortunately many Americans opinions leading to their voting rights are "unqualified" as effective research on their part is not done to bring them to their conclusions. Many comments here toward Sarah Palin are not fair and thus show the one giving the opinion to have not done their homework. In my opinion Sarah has great potential because she shows strength, leadership, strong history in the government and much more. However Sarah will need to improve her position to run and win the position of President which is up to her to do.I hope that others out there can debate Sarah Palin's abilities fairly and support their opinions instead of showing their lack of intelligence. Good luck out there.
NoRinosAllowed 08/07/2009
I like her and most of what she stands for, BUT...I'm not voting for her...unfortunately I don't think anybody takes her serious anymore!I hope she doesn't try and run, it would be a waste of a serious candidate's slot!!
yoplezy 08/07/2009
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! This is funnier than an orangutan doing jumping-jacks!
Angela Phillips 08/05/2009
Sarah - please work on a Senate campaign, not presidential. I see the stupid mistakes a Junior Senator is making since he thought he could fill the shoes of a president. Save America the pain and suffering. There are much more qualified individuals than you. You have guts, but talk less, learn more and quit defending yourself.
challenger 07/21/2009
You have got to be kidding me! This trailer trash ignoramous showed her colors or rather her complete lack of a decent education on so many issues it was emnbarassing. fairly average looking brunette is not a qualifiaction for the presidency

No way. Too much of a John McCain.
ALEXRG 07/15/2009
As a conservative I do not believe she is a decent candidate for any executive office. I usually vote Republican I voted McCain-Palin 08 but I will not vote Palin as President. Romney 12

There is no way on God's green earth Sarah Palin has a chance to being the President of the United States. The one reason Obama won the election is because people voted for him because he is black and it would make history if he won. Well, so would have McCain as the oldest President. Now would people vote for Sarah Palin just because she would make history too? I think McCain possibly could have won the election in 2008 if he had not chosen Palin as Vice President.
IndepAmerican 06/08/2009
Are you kidding me? shes a retard!!!
peteyE 05/28/2009
Like it or not, she is polarizing, and that is not a successful way to win the presidency
bnh12 03/12/2009
This is a very cumbersome issue. Palin is a great canidate but will the Indapendent vote? The Liberal vote is not in her reach. I can't see Mrs. Palin winning the General Election but I can see her winning the nomination. Who knows? She is our rising star.
SCYP 03/11/2009
Sarah Palin is a young rising star of The Republican Party but not a right political machine and savior for The Republican Party. In 2008 presidential campaign, she was not eloquent enough through accurate idea to catch people's heart. Sarah Palin becomes the presidential contender in 2012 because John McCain picked her as his vice-presidential running mate. John McCain should pick Mitt Romney as his vice-presidential running mate not Sarah Palin. Mitt Romney is a good economic problem solver. She is not a good economic problem solver but just a funny joke to make woman voters. But, try it! You will know who helps. Governor Mike Huckabee, Governor Sarah Palin, or Governor Mitt Romney?
mikalose 01/23/2009
Would still be an excellent choice as VP in 2012. Give this gal 4 years more experience and Republicans should not find problems with her.
CastleBee 11/21/2008
Naaahhh...she's over. Phew!
Sorry about that Tina.
Ridgewalker 11/20/2008
There's a lot of work to do here. This good person's character got demolished during the campaign....to the point where the American public can no longer tell the difference between her and Tina Fey. And Tina Fey, she ain't...
caphillsea77 11/20/2008
We'll see, she'll need to develop a whole lot more foreign policy experience and knowledge. No doubt her noteriety gave her a platform to stand on. In the meantime lets not wish our lives away over the next 4 years. The Republicans obvious need to rebuild a new strategy.
jr1990 11/17/2008
I want a presidential candidate who knows Africa is a continent.
PCPeter774 11/17/2008
I want a VP that knows more about the world than I do! Goddamn republicans!
Moosekarloff 11/17/2008
You must be kidding. She was a total crap Vice Presidential candidate who was a total drag on the ticket in 2008. This is because she was way over her head, absolutely lacking in the knowledge, intelligence, experience and temperament necessary to hold national office. She was also a strategic bad joke. By 2012, she'll either be in prison or hosting a Faux News propaganda shout fest viewed by about 129 drooling Conservatives. The Republican brand is tainted for a decade, so the issue of the GOP 2012 candidate is null. The party will probably put up some sacrificial lamb in hopes of finally regrouping by 2016. Of course, it doesn't help the GOP that the Handjob administration has nearly wrecked the country, so, that even if Obama minimizes the damage and makes the most modest progress towards solving the problems he inherited from the Republicans, he won't be a one-term wonder. But, what's really hilarious and pathetic at the same time is the noodlebrains on this site who are still in support of this dingbat, her party and the conversative ethos. You'd think these imbeciles would have figured it out by now that they've been in the wrong all along, and would be chagrined about their support of the GOP, which has really screwed things up for everyone except the rich, and would regret this, change their ways, finally see the light and get on the right side in hopes that the major problems facing the nation can be remedied. But, no, they're still resistant, mental retards that they are, and are also actually soreheaded and resentful that their reckless and braindead perspectives have been soundly refutiated by everyone else. When you have a turd where your brain should be, even a crack over the skull with a 2x4 won't have any impact, I suppose.

UPDATE: We're just friends.
ORIGINAL: She won't be able to commit to run until somebody answers for her what is it exactly that the President does every day. In 2012 she would bring to the table everything that Dan Quayle brought in 2000 when he floated the idea of his candidacy, except for the eight years experience as Vice President, of course. She'd probably do about as well.
DireWolf1 11/17/2008
She's got my vote already. After 4 painful years of Obama we are going to need a change from the liberal insanity.
EschewObfuscat ion 11/13/2008
One of three prominent republicans today on the inside track to the presidency. Hers will be an interesting odyssey as she attempts to navigate her way back to the top of the republican free-for-all looking toward 2012. Enormous enthusiasm for her throughout the conservative base, in spite of all the hatred filled slogans hurled by lefty zealots, and it takes that kind of interest on the part of the zealot-filled conservative base to survive the primary process. She will run under the radar for a while and make nice with conservatives. If she can make nice with the moderates in a year or two, she has a chance.
wellstone2 11/13/2008
I am baffled as to how anyone would think she would make a good president. Hasn't eight years of G. Bush taught us that intelligence should be a prerequisite for the office.
alicecooperroc ks 11/12/2008
I like her and I think if she can build on her speech delivery and understanding of key issues she would make a great choice. This lady is smart and what the conservatives need.
palinin2012 11/10/2008
sarah palin is a great nomination in 2012. i would give her my vote.
Drummond 11/09/2008
She'll have her own show on Fox News by then. Somebody will trip her up by asking her whether Australia is a continent or a country.
Katrinabena 11/09/2008
The Republicans can just be the old white man's party anymore. Palin is able to energize a crowd like few other Republicans. She will learn from this election and become a better governor and be able to handle the press better. I like her ideas and would vote for her in a heartbeat.
Doctor of Madness 11/06/2008
It seems to me that the man who was just elected President of the United States of America was an Illinois state senator just elected to the United States Senate after his nominated opponent was forced to drop out of the race when the private records of his divorce were released, thanks to the Chicago daily newspapers. Much can change over four years! Sarah Palin is a quick learner and is now well aware of the crap that will be thrown at her. If she chooses to run, she'll be ready.
Chalky 11/06/2008
George Papadapolis from 'Webster' has a better chance than Sarah Palin, even though Webster almost floated away when Papadoapolis and his wife gave him those helium balloons.
waideyboy 11/06/2008
She's conservitive, powerfull, and smart. The media tore her apart and took everything she said and did wrong and forgot to look at all the great she's done.
blue47 11/06/2008
If the republican pick her and another slate of right wing bible thumpers as they did in this election, they'll be sucking hind tit again. The likes of Jeb Bush, Huckabee, Rommney and will do the trick

Irishgit & CanadaSucks are spot on here. A nomination of Palin in 2012 would have the power to remobilize everyone who rallied behind Obama in this election and then some. I also don't think that most of anyone besides the basest of the GOP base ;) are her biggest fans. FoxNews has already started to slam her, and I think we have yet to hear all of the nonsense that went down once she got picked up by the McCain campaign without extensive vetting. I'm sure there will be books written (or more likely ghostwritten).Don't forget that she also needs to make it out alive through primary season. It's one thing to run against a campaign at the last minute that stood for change and solidarity of a nation. It's quite another to run for months against Rovian-style Neocon attacks after becoming insta-famous 8 years prior as a essentially a passionate idiot with zero integrity. Speaking of insta-fame. I think she'd do better on daytime TV where she doesn't actually need to research anything. Her hilarious Katie Couric interview was one of the few appearances she made where she wasn't heavily prepped in advance, and we saw how that went. She'd make a great puppet, but I think we've had about enough of that as president in the past 8 years.
Twitchin' Monkey 11/06/2008
Tina Fey sure hopes so!
saintlyg 11/06/2008
She is the one that I would love to see run in 2012, so much so that I want to work heavy on her campiagn.
irishgit 11/05/2008
The Democrats would love to run against her in 2012. Her motivation of the GOP base is more than compensated by her mobilization of the Democrat base and her ability to fundraise for the opposition. Whatever her political skills, (and I suggest they aren't as bad as they've been painted) she would have a major hill to climb to overcome the present perceptions of herself with a majority of voters. Historically, very view politicians have managed to overcome a significant negative perception in the voters minds. Nixon did so, between '62 and '68, but he's pretty much the exception.
zuchinibut 11/05/2008
Good effort by Palin during this election. Shes like a kid from the JV who was pulled up to the Varsity by the head coach. She was thrown in over her head, gave it her best, but obviously isn't ready. I don't think that a couple years of seasoning will be enough to help her improve her image to the general population. Sure she is likable, but people just don't take her seriously. I expect her to run a primary campaign, but I don't see her getting the national nomination. Perhaps the Republican Party would have been better served by introducing her to the nation with a knockout speech at the Convention, and then bringing her along slowly for 2012 or 2016. So much focus on her so quickly did a lot of damage.
