Tom Coburn, Jr. Senator of Oklahoma, has one of the nation's most fiscally and socially conservative voting records in the upper house. My only real complaint is that he did vote for the Bush "TARP-1" plan... which he later apologized for, and admitted that the cries of possible depression from both sides of the isle were the reason he voted for it.He is a great business man, a doctor (OGBYN), former congressman and leader in the John McCain 2008 Presidential campaign (another association that could cost him). While I typically oppose current senators for Presidential candidates, this man is extremely conservative, very principled, and ready to lead on fiscal and domestic issues. He has a unique understanding of health care, having been the owner of a large pharmaceutical (eye-care) company and current physician. This could prove valuable in 2012. Coburn promised before being elected to the Senate (and earlier, congress) to only serve a set number of terms (in the senate, 2), which he will finish in three years. The man is a devout Christian, and pro-2nd Amendment as well.
