To early to tell but I do hope he doesn't respond "present" when confronted with tough issues.

This I believe. Personally, I am looking forward to the day when we'll all be wearing those khaki suits and working on the plantaion...with Big Brother watching of course.

I think the main problem here is most people give the same definition to equality they give to words like fairness and compromise. For the most part, this ends up being, "We get our way, you shut up and deal with it."

Equality is a nice utopian dream, but it is never going to happen. Let's get real . Many of us would love to have equality in this country but we are never going to have it. The fact is some of the things that were said about Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin had a sexist vibe. Who cares what Palin wore? Do people not realize the other candidates get clothing allowances as well? Why didn't anyone mention Obama or McCain have really expensive looking suits? 95 percent of blacks voted for Obama, yet less than half know a single thing he did in the Senate, they voted for him strictly for his skin color. Many voted against him strictly for his skin color. Yesterday, I received dozens of emails and text messages with racist messages. Yes they were jokes, but a lot of people more or less believe them. I heard a mental midget yesterday claim he didn't like Palin or Clinton either because the last thing the world needs is a "chick" thinking she runs something. If you think Obama or anyone else is going to bring equality, you need to work less about a pipedream and more about getting an education in the school of reality.

Through... socialism? Man, I just couldn't see that door open and not walk through it. I really am a dick sometimes... UPDATE: I wonder if the agreement was with my oddball sentiment or the idea that I'm a dick...

Pure silliness. There is no such thing as "true equality". All of us have different talents and different abilities that are measured differently. Why try to standardize or eliminate these differences for the sake of some form of equality?

Isn't this a delightful thought! I like Obama, but perfection isn't spelled B-A-R-A-C-K.

Equality doesn't exist. Not in nature, the universe, human perception. . .we are talking about an interesting candidate in a long and exhausting election- but it should always be more about opportunity than equality. The dude didn't make Harvard Law Review because he was equal to anyone. . .Still, the videos and replays do show a historic moment in a democracy. I never thought the smartest guy would win. . .

He's going to bring a lot of things that people aren't ready for because they haven't seen or paid attention to who the real Obama is. If you like socialism or Marxism, then you'll be happy. You better hang onto your hat because this is going to be a rough four years.

So long as the rich stay that way and get to keep their boot-heels planted firmly where they already are (on the necks of the poor), nothing changes, no matter who sits in the big chair...

Not sure about this but it would be nice to see some things change. Honestly, I feel like I got a D+ (Obama) on my homework instead of a D- (McCain). But I'll take the D+

Yep, the scene of the Black Panthers at one of the voting places is a good sign of it.

Thats easier said then done. Let us also remember his chum's Pelosi, Harry Reid and gang remain in power. Hard for me to believe they will bring true equality let alone Obama. If he sticks to his word, I would be impressed.

I'm not sure I know what "true equality" means, but I've yet to believe that any member of the ruling elite does either.
