Don't worry. The military industrial complex holds all the cards.

Most thoughtful men would be conflicted, sitting in Obama's position. His liberal wing-nut friends have put him in office and they want their card stamped. If there is an attack on the US mainland, and I certainly believe there will be, and it appears that our military suffers from a lack of funding, or resolve, and both will be in short supply under Commander Obama, you won't have to look far for whose doorstep to lay it on. The only proviso is the press. They will wipe his fingerprints off every cut, that is not their job, but that is what will happen. He is not conflicted, he walks in lockstep with the antiwar crowd. That does not bode well.

That whole "slowing the development of future combat systems" thing isn't sitting well with me. These are the systems that will save our troops bacon in the next war.

Spending cuts in R&D and upkeep would be bad. A drop in expenditures from exiting Iraq properly would be nice. Still a little up in the air.

There's a strong possibility. Barney Frank has already called for it and it's probably the worst thing that could be done right now. We can only hope he doesn't skeletonize the military like Carter did.

Bush 41 and Bill Clinton both made this mistake, and we have seen the negatvie effects since 9/11. I have no doubt that Obama will gut things even further.
