Although she's been revealed to be an airhead, it's too soon to count her out.

After all, G. W. Bush got to screw everything up... twice!

It depends on whether or not sufficient numbers of swing voters become disillusioned with Obama by the fall of 2012.

UPDATE:

... and - of course - on whether or not the oligarchy decides it's her turn.

She isn't a 15 minutes of fame, flash in the pan celebrity. She's a governor and a former VP candidate. Granted, she didn't hold up extremely well on her first run, but she is a national political figure! To put her on the same list as Kato Kaelin just doesn't make sense.

I happen to believe that she won't gain much traction in the 2012 primary elections. She'll probably post 2nd or 3rd place in the final count. At this point, I'd probably peg Mitt Romney as the frontrunner for the nomination, although there's still over 3 years to go until Iowa.

I'll look back at this comment in 2012 and see if my political prediction played itself out!

Sarah Palin doesn't belong on this list. She's the governor of a state, was on the Presidential ticket for 2008, and is a possible Presidential candidate for 2012.

I don't own a television set and the only papers I read are the leftovers I pick up when I eat at Dennys. The radio in my pickup has been busted for years, and I only get on the internet when I go to the library and the nice lady helps me.

Just who is Sarah Palin, anyhow. I never heard of her let alone hearing about her for 15 minutes.

I think Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air. She's quite the contrast to the liberal women who are calling her out all the time (eg "The View"). I think it's really pretty amazing how intimidated these
"liberated females" are of her. She has the courage to stand up to both the men and women. The media was so negatively biased in the way they reported her--due to her social issues. Amazing how the same witches that are so called "Pro Choice" and wanting a woman to have the right to her own God-given body, were the same ones who were making a circus out of her 17 yr old daughter's pregnancy. No wonder Letterman thought he could get some much-needed laughs from his lame joke/comment about her daughter and Alex Rodriguez. God Bless the Palin family.

Sarah Palin is a scatterbrained ideologue. It was an embarrassment to the country to have someone like this as a candidate for a major office. If she's all the Republicans have for 2012, our two party system could be in danger.

I'll be very direct here. The male side of me screams MILF...I could look at her all day long and not ever tire of it. The thinking side of me says that someone like Sarah Palin in leadership would have only accelerated the Fall of the Roman Empire, and would not do the USA a damn bit of good. Her worldly ignorance and her closed mind would have done wonders to further isolate the US from the rest of the world, placing us in a very vulnerable position. My guess is that McCain thought he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell to win the election, so he pulled out all the stops and went with a longshot. Beware though, she is driven and frighteningly ambitious, and she most likely will return.

Had far more than 15 minutes, and if the hard cores in the GOP get their way, she'll get even more.  Which will make the Democrats dance for joy.

UPDATE:  It seems that Ms. Palin is unable or unwilling to accept any responsibility for her performance during the campaign.  Her remarks post election have repeatedly harped on Tina Fey, Katie Couric, the media in general, and the McCain campaign.  Apparently she is unaware that someone seeking high political office is subject to scrutiny, criticism, satire, and attack.  Further, she fails to acknowledge that such a person should be able to handle themselves under fire, and further, be able to answer relatively simple questions.  At the time, I regarded her poor performance as inexperience, or bad briefing.  Now, increasingly I see it as an abundance of hubris, and a victim mentality that seems rather bizarre in such a determined social conservative.

Frankly, if the GOP has an ounce of sense, they will reconsider any idea that this woman should be their standardbearer in 2012, or they will spend time and effort training and grooming her.  That is, if they believe the effort is worth it, and she has the intelligence and humility to accept it.  Frankly, I doubt all three premises.

Anyone else want to type a review saying that Palin will have a ghost-written book? Of course....unlike Obama (who wrote his own book....lmao!) Palin is too dumb, right? Dream on my lefty friends.

Her 15 minutes are probably just about over, but she'll get a steady gig on Fox (just like Mike Huckabee and Karl Rove) and she'll make a very nice living doing the lecture circuit (which can pay quite well). Without doubt, too, there's a ghost-written autobiography waiting in the wings.

Between making moose chili on Anderson Cooper 360 yesterday (no seriously.) and doing Larry King tonight, seems like Palin is willing to interact with the press more now than when she had the potential of being Vice President. How ironic.

Governor Palin who is well respected in her home state will be back in the national limelight. Whether she runs for  US Senator or US President, we have not heard the last of this motivated woman.

I did not vote for McCain - Palin. mostly because I did not agree with some of their stands on certain issues. I had not heard of Governor Palin until she was announced as the running mate for McCain. I felt some sympathy for her because the press was so mean sprited to her. they seemed to take great delight in making her out to be some kind of "bimbo" It  seems like she could not say anything without it being made fun of. I did not agree with her stands on some topics. and did not feel she was experienced enough for vice president. she did not deserve some of the crap the press aimed at her. always making her out to be "stupid" when she is not. and the press also should have left her children alone.  i think she will be around longer that that 15 minutes of fame.

No where in the history have we seen such a nut. She doesn't follow protocol, she doesn't know her own United States, and she turns on her own people. What a complete waste of 15 minutes!

I believe it was Daily Show Correspondent John Oliver who once said that when you get your 15 minutes of fame, no one tells you that 12 minutes of it will feel like a rectal exam. By the end of the month she will be back home and can return to the life of being a big fish in a small pond.
