I generally just find Yahtzee to be rather boring. Strategy plays a very minimal role in the game. I enjoy several games where luck of the dice plays a significant role, but in Yahtzee, luck of the dice is the only major component.

I have great memories involving Yahtzee, actually. Four generations of my family used to sit down together and play this just before going to bed. It was always fun to listen to the grown-ups crack jokes of each other (our competitive spirit even over Yahtzee). I miss those days...

I love Yahtzee. I have a little hand held game I sometimes play while watching tv. Playing against others though I like triple yahtzee best.

Developed in the mid-50's in Canada, I recall Yahtzee being one the favorite games of my older sister. I suppose one graduates from the simpler diversion's (think Operation) to games like this one rather early. (I also presume that pre-teens are attracted to the relatively loud noise from five dice in a plastic cup.) The high level of chance involved with Yahtzee minimizes the attraction to me personally, but the game does translate well to handheld electronic version. Nevertheless, ultimately its a dice-based derivative of poker.

I love Yahtzee. It's a unique dice game and you never know what the outcome will be. Hmmmm....do you use your 4 6's as a 4 of a kind or for a score of 24 under your 6's category? A point to always ponder.

Better than average dice game that requires at least a modicum of thought.

Unless you are playing solo on a computer, this game is just boring.

Easy to play, doesn't cost much, and you don't have to know how to count beyond six. What more could you ask for?

An obvious classic, Yahtzee is the ultimate dice game. I can't say how many times I have played this addictive cup rattler, but it is certainly alot. Even better, it can be played solo or with lots of people. Of course, you can get creative and make your own scoring variations, which only adds to the fun...

I will say this is by far my family's favorite game ever. We used to play it at least 3 times a week faithfully. We always play the whole card, and it takes hours to finish one game this way. But we dont care, it is such great fun. Yahtzee is a classic game that I will love forever. It helps bring families together, and for that alone it deserves 5 stars.

It's fun but can get frustrating, like the load noise of the dice being rolled in that cup. Also, I don't get Yahtzee very often so it does become a nerve-wracking game, but still fun.

It's kind of fun to play, but it's really more dumb luck than anything that will win you the game. There's really no skill involved whatsoever.

Yahtzee is a really good game, but not as good as Kismet. Kismet is the same as Yahtzee but with the addition of colored dots-instead of all black-on the dice. So, 5 dice of the same number, i.e. 1, would only be worth 5 pts. in Yahtzee but would be a flush (all green dice) & worth considerably more pts. in Kismet. Our family has been playing Kismet for decades and even take it with us on vacations!

Yahtzee can be fun. It is a quick game of chance. With three roles of the dice you have to decide what to do with them. there is a score pad where you have to try and get everything on there. A Yahtzee is five of a kind. and the highest of the points. Other scores to attempt are four of a kind. full house. There is some straegy involved and just plain taking your chances. SOmetimes we like to change the rules like going staight down the line. If you do not feel like competing it is even a game you can play by yourself.

Nothing beats this game for simplicity of rules and suitablity for a wide age range. Take this one along in a zip-lock plastic bag on your next camping trip. It's fun for the whole family and teaches multiplication skills.

This game was actually pretty cool, and I enjoyed it until one summer day in 1979 when my brother yelled out "NAZI!!!!!!" one day just to be cute and it sent the next-door neighbor kid, who was of the Jewish faith, home crying. My mother really raked him over the coals for that dumb remark and I was so horrified I never touched it again for 21 years. Still, one bad memory does not a bad game make. It's great fun, and it's one of the few games my wife and I enjoy playing together.

Yahtzee is an OK game, and that's reall all that I can say about it. It's just another game out there that looks kind of boring from the box, but can amuse you through the day.

An entertaining game of chance. The game depends on the roll of five dice and I like these kind of chance games because they don't require any skill. It is all up to the dice. It's the opposite of chess but I still like them both.

This is a good game to teach children counting and strategizing. We think of alternative ways to score at times to make it more interesting. I think it is a good game for both young and old.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. Anyone can play it. At least anyone over the age of 10. It is has a little strategy to it but you don't have to think too much. It is fast. It is easy. I don't get bored of playing. I usually start out saying best out of 3, then I don't want to stop so it gets moved to best out of 5 etc. etc. Nothing is better than getting a Yahtzee (where you get all 5 di the same number). It is just a really fun game and you can bring it anywhere.

LOVE THIS GAME! Since playing it with my family as a kid (the non deluxe blue cup and small white dice and playing on the table) to my now Deluxe version with luxurious black pleather cup and little felt lined rolling table and sparkly gold dice! My husband and I went on a compulsive obsessive Yahtzee binge a while back. 4 Yahtzees in one game is my record. Also a great way to teach kids how to add.

I love Yahtzee - I remember playing it since I was a kid with my family. I got Yahtzee deluxe for christmas a year ago and have run through the score sheets already. You can even play yahtzee by yourself. Samll groups or large groups can play and there is even a little bit of strategy involved.

The dice can be put to better use in drinking games. And that "Yahtzee!" thing on ESPN got kind of annoying after a while.

Besides hitting a hole in one, or making a three quarters shot in basketball, there may be no single event more thrilling then rolling a five '6' Yahtzee in one throw.
