Billy Crystal stint on SNL was excellent. The bits he did with Christopher guest were some of the best written and performed ever on the show. And his imitations of Sammy Davis, Jr., Fernando Lamas, Muhammed Ali, and Howard Cosell were classics. He used to do great standup as well and I think that has largely been abandoned in favor of the movies.

Easily carried the show when he was on SNL back in the eighties.

Please! Is it possible to erase the memory of this man from the minds of consciousness of the people?! Just make him go away, Please! He is so over the top! although he was good in The Preoncess Bride.

He didn't stay too long on SNL to make a lasting impression, but I won't forget his impersonation of Sammy Davis Jr. and the "Mah-velous" guy, truly original and funny skits.

I didn't watch many episodes of SNL when Billy Crystal was on it, but he was a decent member of the cast. His Fernando bit was a classic. Like so many other cast members, he soon left and went to the movies. I hate when that happens.

Billy Crystal is mostly known as the academy awards host, but he did have a spot on SNl in the mid 80's. He didn't last too long, maily because he was also in movies and had just quit the comedy, Soap but he was pretty good.

I like Billy Crystal. But I think he did a lot better at his own pace. SNL was just to fast for him.

HE(OR SHE) WAS BETTER ON SOAP

Consistently really funny, but sometimes he gets too... theatrical (?) or something for me. It works up to a point, and then it goes over some kind of edge and he loses me. But his imitations are great. I really like that game show skit where he's Sammy Davis Junior - you know the one where he has to get his partner to say certain words, and the partner keep screwing up?

He was one of the few who already had had a successful career and used SNL to get back into the limelight. Even today, if someone says you look mahvelous, they what you're talking about.

His Sammy Davis, Jr. impression is a classic.
