 | handy (0) 03/25/2004 | I like Jane a lot and think she's really great. Unlike Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, and Chevy Chase, she doesn't carry a scene by herself. Her skill is as an ensemble player. She works as a team rather than trying to hog the scene. She's a class act.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 11/27/2002 | Not only was she great on the news as the "serious" foil to Aykroyd and Roseanna Roseannadanna, she was also in the conehead skits, the widettes, and so many more. She was more of a straight-woman if you will, but she did an excellent job.

 | JoDo (0) 01/03/2002 | Jane Curtin is one of the most underappreciated performers on TV today. She can do skit-comedy (SNL), standard sit-coms (Kate and Ally), or farce (3rd Rock). She has great comic timing and can deliver a line well, but she can also set lines upas well, which is actually more difficult. Any comic will tell you that great straightmen are hard to come by. Jane doesn't always get the recognition that she deserves but she is like Vivian Vance, she has the rare ability to make everyone around her look better. Think of all of the great SNL routines that Jane was a part of,Gilda as Rosanne Rosanadana, Dan Ackroyd with Point/Counterpoint, John Belushi working himself up into a fit: Jane was the perfect foil. Her reactions made their comedy that much funnier. Watch her as she reacts to John Lithgow's antics on 3rd Rock. Her reactions allow his craziness to go to the edge without ever quite going over. She was also the only person to do Weekend Update the way that it was meant to be done, with a completely serious delivery. Satire is killed by mugging and other evidence of self-amusement. She is delightful. She takes that which is average and makes it seem good, and that which is good and makes it great.

 | afterglow70 (1) 06/19/2001 | I found her rather boring also. However, I think she does well in her roll as John Lithgow's girlfriend on Third Rock.

 | callmetootie (5) 04/07/2001 | Jane Curtin was one of the greatest cast members of the original cast with Gilda Radner. She played Prymatt on the coneheads segment, and she was so funny. She was also funny on Weekend Update, when she would get beat up by Chevy Chase.

 | Wiggum (17) 02/16/2000 | Just not that funny. But, as the straight one for funnier people to play off, she definitely helped the show.
