Not funny or good. His Larry King impersonation was very good. His replacement of Kevin Nealon at the Weekend Update desk was refreshing.

best update anchor, plus his old stand up is so good that if you haven't seen it, you are missing out.

I have a theory that Canadians love Norm MacDonald.

He was the best Weekend Update anchor ever.

Loved his Burt Reynolds... nothing else.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that he was the best Weekend Update guy ever. He was so over the top that I couldn't help but laugh.

I am highly disgusted that so many people would support a man who made fun of a case where a girl was beaten,tortured, raped, and killed. Teena Brandon her name was. Norm just couldn't lay off the fact that Teena was a lesbian and thus, being the jerk he is, stated for that alone, Teena "deserved to die" as were his true words. I am sick of Norm's ugly mug and his loud cruel mouth and nasty personality. How would you feel if you were Teena's mother or father hearing this twerp badmouth her while she's in the cold grave?

Norm Macdonald is SO GREAT! nobody will ever come close to being as good or as cute at Weekend Update as he was! I loved it when he would just look at the camera and shake his head after a particularly stupid comment... it was just the best! i was soo bummed when they replaced him with Colin Quinn, who I actually didn't despise as much as some people, but he just came off as REALLY BAD after following Norm! I also loved Norm's imitations of Burt Reynolds and David Letterman... he's the greatest, definitely one of my favorite cast members ever!

I loved Norm - his delivery and timing seem so natural and are so impeccable! I also like how he stuck it to SNL after they fired him.

Pretty funny on Weekend Update, but certainly not a genius like some people think he is. Talented and funny but average.

Weekend update!

NOT funny! His act of reading news, making stupid jokes, then staring at the audience to coerce them into laughing was a piece of mud. He couldn't even make me crack a smile. Annoying man.

He's quite overrated for someone who told jokes about the same people over and over again.

Norm was awesome! he was unfairly fired by Lonre because he made jokes about OJ Simpson and Lorne is a friend of OJ. ridiculous...

He was not funny. That says it all.

News with Norm is about the only part of SNL that I like.

MacDonald is proof that there really was somebody in the SNL cast who could suck more at doing Weekend Update than Kevin Nealon.

Norm on SNL was truely a breath of fresh air to the show. His delivery was so unique, it did not matter what the material was, he could make it funny. Also watching his in sketches was hilarious because you knew he could not act. I understand why NBC fired him, it was just because he really didn't belong on the show. This gives him better opportunities to find an outlet for his brand f humor.

Norm McDonald is a TERRIBLE actor, but his lack of acting talent only seems to increase his power as a comedian.

Well, someone has to have the dry sense of humor, I guess. He really sux. Sorry Norm.

Norm Macdonald can be funny in movies, but on SNL he put on effort whatsoevet into entertaining the viewers. He would just annoy me, and whenever the audience doesn't laugh at his jokes, he just stares at the screen for 30 seconds, thinking that it's funny.

This guy is really funny. So sometimes he can be a little crass, but really it's all in the name of comedy. His Weekend Updates were great. He added character to the skit, and we were not wishing the whole time that he was Kevin Nealon, like we do with the really bad current anchorman for Weekend Update.

I think MacDonald portrays the perfect male chauvenistic pig. His character shows him as a uncaring person for other people's property. His show Norm portrays a person that is really unaware of what life is all about.

He is so sarcastic that I completely relate to him. When he did the news update he was especially funny. His movies pretty much flopped, but his show is good. Why did he get fired from SNL?

I hate Norm. He is boring, especially his news show. Everytime that came one I would change the channel and usually I wouldn't come back. I don't understand why he still is on the show because he isn't funny at all.

Norm has an original comic style, but he dosn't necessarily fit with the other cast members. I loved when he did the news, even though the writing was lousy when he was doing it. Watch him once, and if you think he's at all funny, you'll like everything he does. It's just a matter of liking his original style.

The news skit on SNL had to be the best part for Norm. It just isn't as funny with the people who were before or after him. However, he has two stupid movies and a stupid TV show called Norm that got canceled after one season. He is also in some good movies like Billy Madison and Duece Bigalow.

Hilarious..the reasons that he was dumped are pretty ironic. Wasn't Saturday Night Live based on non-comformist views and sarcastic humor?! SNL was the loser here.

I laughed every time Norm anchored the news - regardless of the content. The guy was just funny. Then the brain trust at NBC decides to replace a true talent with this guy Colin Quinn, who SUCKS. I mean he's terrible. Bring back Norm - from a network executive point of view, he may have a bad, non-conformist attitude, but isn't that part of what makes SNL unique?

Norm really got the shaft when he was railroaded off of the show. I think his 'Weekend Update' was much better than that of Colin Quinn
