one of the greatest female comidiennes ever!

Portaying Emily Latella on weekend update with Chevy Chase, and as Lisa Lupner with Bill Murray were my favorite skits of hers. Never cared for the Rosanne R...... or the Baba Wawa though.

Truly my favorite SNL cast member of all time. Only Molly Shannon can come close with her similarly fearless comedic timing. Gilda had the stunning once-in-a-lifetime ability to make you laugh until it hurt while subtly causing you to fall in love with the beautiful and awesome human being that she was. She is and always will be timeless.

I would watch every week for Roseanne Roseannadanna. She was the best!!!!

Gilda is timelessly amazing. All of her characters have such honesty to them that every line deliver has perfect comedic timing. Her kindness projects. She is hysterical and incredible and always will be.

Had some funny moments, but over-rated in my opinion. No offense, but passing away doesn't automatically grant someone legend status

Wow, I miss Gilda. What an awesome comedianne and a sweet person. Somany memorable characters. What was the character, she played like a mentally challenged or autistic girl, kept like running into the wall until someone turned her? I know they could not get away with that in todays PC world, but that was so funny !

What a funny lady! I loved her charachters-especially Roseanne Rosannadanna-she made me laugh till it hurt.She had such a sweet aura of innocence.It's so sad we lost her so young.

It is so obvious that anyone on this site that did not view Gilda Radner as great was very young at the time of her SNL days, or not born yet. Maybe those who say that Gilda was not funny or that she was over-rated are the same group of people that need a comic to use every four letter word in the book in order to be funny. Gilda, on the other hand, was hilarious, without the curse words. All of her characters, Rosanne Rosanadana, Emily Latella, The character with Todd, the Jewish Jeans girls, just to name a few, brought tears to my eyes during each and every viewing. I hope that everyone goes to their DR often, for annual exams, because breast cancer, ovarian cancer (which took Gilda's young life), and other rotten stinkin cancers can grab onto you when you least expect it. God bless you, Gilda. You are one in a million.

I thought she was very talented, but the truth was I never found her funny. In fact, I never thought any of the women on SNL were funny, and I used to feel somewhat guilty about that, attributing it to a sexism that I hadn't even been aware of. Thankfully, the women on Second City were hysterically funny, so I was reassured on that score.

she was good, but not nearly as good as most people on this site think, with 30 years of cast members to pick, she does not make the top 15

When I was a kid I couldn't wait to see her as Rosanne Rosannadanna. I laughed till I cried!!! She was the best!!!

one of the best to me. She was funny. she could portray lot of good characters. Rosannrosanadana was good one. the hard of hearing Emily littila. lisa lupner the geek. she had a lot of talent. I always got the impression she loved what she was doing. too bad she had to die so young.

When will they ever stop talking about this overrated woman? She wasn't even funny, and for that matter, neither was Saturday Night Live during those years. Molly Shannon could do circles around this woman if she was still alive. I don't think Gilda deserved to die like she did, but I still didn't care for her on SNL.

Anyone who thinks the new SNL is better than the old SNL should have their f***ing head examined. Gilda Radner always slayed me.

Gilda lights up the screen on the old episodes. Funny, sweet and gone way too soon.

Looking back a many of the skits from the old days, they just aren't funny anymore. However, almost everything Gilda did still is funny after all this time. Rosanna Rosanna Danna was really funny, and she just lit up the stage.

A groundbreaker & the most talented of the 1st cast, in my opinion. I loved her next day after the 1-nite stand film.

Gilda was simply the best...When she left us, the world was heartbroken. I felt particularly sorry for her husband, Gene Wilder. The will never be another quite like her. God bless you Gilda.

Her work alone, proved that women were just as vital in the (at the time) male-oriented world of comedy. Her grace and wit have stood the test of time and are still funny til this day. She will be missed.

Oh Gilda! So many laughs. I would love to be able to sit down and talk with her today. The world lost some laughter when she past away. :)

What a loss it was when she died! She was fantastic! There will never be another cast of SNL like the one from the late 1970's!!

What a great woman! She deserves full credit for her role on SNL. She was extremly funny and such a great woman. It was so, so sad when she died of overian cancer about 15 years ago. God bless you, you were one funny lady.

Absolutely the funniest SNL cast member ever. She was so underrated.

I gave Gilda Radner a 5 because she was a ground breaking female. She was as funny and daring as any guy on SNL and showed great strength during her battle with cancer. She was hilarious and at the same time, someone you could feel was sensitive and compassionate.

Not a big fan of the "Barbara Wa-Wa" thing, but Radner's manic energy cracked me up in a few different skits. I remember one where she was literally bouncing off walls. And she was hilarious as Bill Murray's geeky girlfriend/prom date.

Again, never really saw her when she was on the show since it was before my time, but from what I see on the reruns, she was a great sketch comic. Looking at this list makes me ponder the whole 'SNL Curse' idea. So many of these people have died before their time should have been up.
