Another cast member that introduced new things. His musical infused "weekend update spots" where histerical and unforgettable. Operaman was genious. And then theres Gap girls another one of my alltime favorite sketches with reoccuring characters. He was also part of my favorite SNL era(farley, sandler, hartman, spade, etc) so I may be partial

I've yet to see him in anything where he's actually funny, or displays even a modicum of talent. Along with other "entertainment" ciphers like Julia Roberts and Britney Spears, he sort of personifies the banality that American culture has descended to. In the past, you had to have some sort of talent before you became famous. Or, if you were talentless, you had to have an otherworldly beauty or sexiness. Now, we've come to a point where almost anybody can become "famous". I guess some might see that as a triumph for egalitarianism, but if you enjoy quality in your movies, your music, your books...it's nothing short of depressing to contemplate. What's happened to us? We were the culture of jazz, of rock music, of Bogie and Cagney, of Billie Holiday, of Edgar Allen Poe and Mark Twain...now we're the culture of Britney and Adam and Stephen King and John Grisham. I certainly don't have the knowledge or intelligence to offer a cogent explanation of why this has happened in America, but I know now that every Hanukkah season, without fail, I'm going to be "treated" to countless repititions of Sandler's "Hanukkah Song", along with John and Yoko singing "Happy Christmas (War is Over)". Difference being, of course, that Lennon had immense talent (even if Yoko didn't).

Perhaps the unfunniest "funny-guy" in the history of show business. Has made millions of dollars from acting like an infantile dinglenuts, and for some reason people just seem to lap it up!! Oh well.. thats today's showbusiness I guess.

He's extremely funny, with a humor reminiscent of Beavus and Buthead. His humor tends to be immature, yes, but that's the fun of it. Some people can't stand him, of course, but I believe that those people get offended too easily.

I never really found him funny on SNL. He certainly didn't stand out as someone who would go on to such enormous success. He is pretty funny in some of his movies though, and he seems like a real decent person, so good for him.

Adam sandler always plays the same character, with Waterboy being the one exception. He is always the irresponsible idiot. In Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Billy Madison, he is always the same and not funny.

Sandler's time on SNL was probably the highlight of his career, and his breakthrough as well. His songs that he sang on "Weekend Update" were hilarious, espescially "Oprah Man". He seemed to fit in perfectly with the late 80s and early 90s cast.

This rating is based solely on his work on SNL. He was great as Opera Man and Cajun Man. Also those hilarious little diddies about his red hooded sweatshirt. However, if we are talking about his movie career, I give it NO STARS. His movies are not funny. They suck.

I'm not a big Sandler fan, "Happy Gilmore" didn't do much for me, but looking back on some of his SNL years, I see he had a funny way of getting his jokes across. A man of many faces with a usually good sense of humor.

I generally love saturday night live, and the cast is usually exquisite new young talents. This leads me to wonder what person made the grave oversite of letting this bufoon on the cast. Sandler represents the downfall of the show. It shows that even a great show like SNL isn't perfect. When sandler came on he brought with him a new comedic era, on SNL....a low-brow era. Though this was much wanted by many special interests groupswho were upset that never before had a neaderthal man been allowed to be on network television. I despise Adam Sandler, his time spent on SNL, and every movie he's been in. Here's to hoping he grows up!

Sandler's immature comic genius was viewed as boorish by those with pretenses of what comedy should be. Opera Man. Cajun Man. He additions to weekend update were often the highlight of the newscast. Comic genius a good setting.

Adam Sandler was good for SNL because he was a musician who was able to write his own songs. All of his songs were good because they were relevant to what was going on at the time. He also included many sources for his songs.

Adam Sandler is hilarious. His never grow up attitude is evident in his comdey and his voice changes are hilarious. He gets totally into his characters and sometimes overacts and overdramatizes things, but since it is intentional, it makes it all the more funny. My favorite sketches include Opera Man, Schlitz Gay Beer, the Gap Girls etc.

Adam Sandler has a witty comedic style that appeals to the child in all of us. Some might call it stupid humor that appeals to the members of society that have a low IQ. On the contrary, I believe that anybody who can just loosen up a little can really enjoy his ingenius timing.

The worst comedian I've ever seen. He doesn't know how to make people laugh. His sense of humor is too cheap, it works more with the ridiculous than with creative things. His last movie was the worst ever film. His imitations of old guys are terrible.

Adam is the man. To me he makes the funniest damn SNL movies. I can hella (totally) relate to him. He was funny on SNL, when he did song and stuff. The only thing that stops me from giving him a 5 is that he could never keep a straight face when Farley would bust out. Sandler's best character was when he played the music event guy, Bill Graham, on the news.

I think that Adam Sandler's comedy is dumb, uninteresting and not funny at all. I have a good sense of humor, and I find many comedians are funny. Adam Sandler is not one of them! His humor is stupid- talking like an idiot, being an idiot and doing idiotic things is not humor.

I tried to disklike Adam Sandler on SNL, but I couldn't do it. The funniest skit I saw him in was set in an Italian restaurant, where Dana Carvey was the waiter, and Sandler played a bus boy (eventually dressed only in some black, speedo-like underwear). Kristie Alley (the guest host) was eating at the restaurant with a date (Kevin Nealon?), and the restaurant employees kept getting more and more physically friendly with her, until, at the end, Carvey was licking her entire face, and Sandler was basically on top of another customer. One of the best skits of that year.
