Good actor. He's great with the stone cold responses and faces...enough to crack up any scene partner. He revolutionized new SNL skits not all of it has to be presentational yata ta ta ta(hat tip) like. One word. Cowbell

Ferrell's obnoxious, egocentric moron schtick is basically the same character placed in different venues over and over. He was mildly amusing at best in the beginning, but it got old real fast. He's one of the lucky SNL alumni who seems to draw an audience based solely on the fact that he's an SNL alumni. Very strange phenomenon. I mean, there must be a population block out there that sees a movie trailer and says "hey, isn't that guy on SNL? Yeah? Well let's go see it!"

Ferrell is a braying ass. An overrated moron who hates people and craps on his audience, defying them to laugh at him. It's s&m. All the little teen boy masochists like the way he craps on them. They spit milk through their noses when he runs with his gut waving in the breeze. He yells so loud: isn't that FUNNY! He's so brave. He must be a genius. Ferrell could fill a diaper with tacoshite and his fans would pay to sniff it.

This guy could say just about anything and it would make me laugh. He is hilarious! Very talented alumnist of SNL.

He can go overboard sometimes, but he is great. I love it when Kattan yells, "Don't blow this for us Gene!" when he was a member of the Blue Oyster Cult. There are so many other moments I would love to bring up, but then I would not do justice to the ones I'd forget.

let me first say that i wouldn't normally waist time on leaving a review for this type of topic. however i hate this idiot SO much and am bored, that i thought i would express my dislike for him. quite frankly he reminds me of the jackass we all knew in highschool that acted like the annoying spaced out dumb guy that's really bad at it, because he thought HE was funny, but no one else did! i was forced to watch OLDSCHOOL once and it was okay, but as a movie- not anything to do with him. i hate his funniless humor so much i will not even watch him in any movie ever again. i can't believe there are people out there who think differently. that sh** he did on SNL was absolute CRAP. that show has SUCKED for about ten years now, BAD! i couldn't even make it 20 mins into ANCHORMAN and some say this is his funniest. there are alot of morons in this world. maybe they should watch some REAL funny people like DAVE CHAPELLE, or an old dvd of EDDIE MURPHY RAW, GEORGE CARLIN, even CARROT TOP and that watermelon smashin' dope- freakin' GALLAGHER could even be better, remember early HOWIE MANDEL, RICHARD PRYOR?! BOB SAGET was funnier than this A**hole on that stupid video show thing he hosted, maybe even FULL HOUSE too! if you have COMEDY CENTRAL on your tv, maybe you should turn it on once and a while! especially after 1am- you do foolish do-gooders, but you might here a swear word-other than POOPIE, so watch out!

He isn't funny at all, and I think he is a very odd duck....just don't care for his acting either way...and I think he is one of many actors that have ruined SNL over the years...the show needs some true talent and soon....

Personally, I've always thought the guy was about as funny as a stucco bathtub.

It is so refreshing to read comments from people that have intelligence and more over actually appreciate true talent and humor. I have disliked Will Ferrell from day one. The only way I can explain the phenomenon, is that unfortunately the mass majority prefer mindless slapstick humor that requires as little brain power as possible to understand. This is the same reason why "Jackass" and pretty much every show on MTV or VH1 exist.

Will Ferrell must have a friend WAY high up in the movie making industry because he's NOT funny. Did anyone see the episode of FAMILY GUY where Stewie goes to see the Bewitched movie and after Will Ferrell delivers a line, Stewie flys out to Las Angeles, goes to Will's house, rings the bell.... the punches him and says, "That's NOT Funny!" It makes a good point.
What worries me is that so many people THINK Will Ferrell is funny. Maybe it's true that in the "Dumbing Down Of America", this will be what our country considers "funny". Will being a "funny actor" is like saying Brittany Spears is a good "musician". And only dumb people think that Brittany is a good "musician". Anyone see the movie, "IDIOCRACY"?? We're heading that way!

I totally agree! Why do people think he is funny? He is stupid, but not funny-far from it. I refuse to see his movies, but they just keep casting him in them.

Will Ferrel was funny at times on SNL in no way, shape, or form is Ferrel a leading man all of his starring roles have been absolutely horrible. Ferrel needs others around him to make him funny otherwise its a complete mystery how he continues to make movies.

He had some funny bits on SNL - as a movie actor he is spectacularly unfunny.

Absolutely hilarious. I love his movies, but SNL is where he is at his best. Harry Carey, Gus Chiggins, Spartan Cheerleaders and Alex Trebex all classic characters on SNL.

Good impression of W does not change the fact that 99% of all the other characters he has done are stupid, and NOT FUNNY! We mock the French for loving Jerry Lewis, and with our apparent worship of Ferrell, they can mock right back. You people must all be dopes or on mind numbing drugs. I tremble for the future. EDIT: Ok, he was pretty good in Dick too. Still, everything else has been so momumentally bad.

SNL really is missing him now. I think it has become a lot more apparent how funny he was now that he is not on the show. He had a ton of memorable characters, and sort of took over for Phil Hartman, in that he could play a wide variety of characters in just about any sketch.

Awesome. So so so so so so so so so so so so so funny! I'm really disappointed he left SNL...the only person I enjoy watching now is Jimmy Fallon...and HE just left the show too!

Will Ferrell was one of the only reasons to watch the show his last few years. Always hilarious. Lorne Michaels should have paid him a king's ransom to stay because none of the dudes on it now are even slightly amusing

You would have thought that he would be funny away from SNL but he was not funny there so the drama continues. The man could not be funny if his life depended on it.

Impersonated GW Bush extremely good, played into all his idiosyncrases, whether they're true or exaggerated. His skit with Carvey as Bush Sr. and Jr. going hunting was hilarious.

Used to be pretty good but has gone over the top. When he purposely pissed himself onstage, that was it for me.

Best male cast member ever. Best Bush impersonater. I love it when he gets mad. I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!. I'm not crazy about his Elf movie. Kinda wish he was back on SNL doing Bush. Darrell Hammond aint got nothing on Will Ferrel, Bush-wise.

Will Ferrell is one of my favorite cast members of all time! He has so many memorable and hilarious characters/impressions- some of them being Alex Trebek, Craig the Spartan Cheerleader, that guy on the morning show with Cheri Oteri, The Marty Culp guy who sings with Ana Gasteyer... the list goes on! He has the cutest facial expressions and the show took a serious DECLINE when they lost Will...

He wasn't the best on SNL, but dammit if he doesn't make every movie he's in funny. He shined in Zoolander, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Old School, and Ladies Man jump to mind. He improvs most of his stuff, and it is true hilarity

I love Will. He makes me crack up just looking at him. His Spartan cheerleader routine is still my favorite. All of the SNL skits and routines are silly and a little corny. It has been funny off and on over the years, but Will has always been a funny guy. I admit I don't like his movies as much, but I continue to watch them to see his goofy grin and antics. F-U-N-N-Y: Will don't need no alibi-he's FUNNY!

He was there when they made the greatest SNL shows ever. Gotta have more cowbell, wich he did with Christopher Walkin. He was there for Celeberty Jeoperdy. He did Harry Karry, George Bush, the list goes on and on.

I remember occasionally watching the show throughout the late nineties, and usually the only time I'd laugh or even smile was when he was onscreen. Even in crappy skits which sucked he could manage to get a chuckle out of me, just because he's so over the top and never broke character (kind of like Tim Conway on Carol Burnett, it was almost more fun sometimes watching the other cast members trying not to crack up - except Chris Kattan and Cheri Oteri, the only other 'professionals' on the show at the time). His parodies of Dubya were hilarious. I hope he's around for awhile.

Will Ferrel would definitely be in my op 5 list of cast members. He is so funny! I thought the cheerleader and jeopardy skits were some of the best in SNL's history. He is just a great comedian.

Many things come to mind: Prez Bush Jr, the homeless naked art model, the too-cool for reality fashion guy on the wheelchair w/ the tiny cell phone, the doctor w/ no people skills who's over-stressed, irate, and incompetent. His "I'm #1" hat was funny too. Ferrel had a unique and original take on things. And that "Don't Fear the Reaper" skit was priceless ("I gotta have more cowbell!")!

This guy is freaking hilarious. I love it when he plays Alex Trebek or when he does that skit with rachel drach and always says: "lovah" Those who haven't seen Old School need to run to the nearest blockbuster and grab the DVD asap. Its hilarious..like Billy Madison kinda hilarious.

The best player they've had in ten years, but that's not saying much. He's very funny but since the show has been sooo bad for the last 10 years it's hard to tell how good he really is. He's had alot of bad material to work with.

ok, will ferrell may not be the BEST snl player there was, but i do think he's pretty hilarious. analyzing his every move is really ridiculous, and you people obviously shouldnt even be allowed to watch snl at all. i know and agree that some of the movies he's been in were dumb, but i think thats the point. they're not meant to be hilarious. they're meant to be silly, however third-grade that sounds. relax and quit judging him, i bet he's a lot funnier than you

He has delivered many funny moments! His George Bush is dead on. Also love his Spartan cheerleader and Alex Trebek. He has been SNL's franchise over the past few years.

In my opinion, Will Ferrell is a mediocre SNL castmember. No doubt, he's probably the best one on the show today, but that's not saying much. However, he is definately no Dana Carvey or Phil Hartman. I do enjoy his "Roxbury" scenes, as well as the Spartan Cheerleader, and most of all, his mockery of President George W. Bush.

Will Ferrell is a comedy god. He is the highest paid SNLer ever. His wonderful impressions led the cast to great success during the time he spent on the show. I am greatly looking forward towards his movie career as it will surly be a sucessful and funny one.

I could look at this guy and crack up. His antics and facial expressions were always funny. I hope this guy goes far in his career. They could've ixnayed on the "Roxbury" movie but he's still great.

"Year in Review 1997" BEST IMPROV/BLOOPER EVER: Ferrell(as Harry Carey):in scotland, they cloned a sheep, which a lot of people thought was fun. HEY! what if- (pause) HEY!

HE IS FREAKING HILARIOUS!! He was in some of the funniest skits I have ever seen when he was on there.

I cannot believe that Ferrell isn't rated number one. Ridiculous
