George Lazenby not much to say but a Bond only by name not by profesion. more like a pilot actor to set up the James Bond caractor for more qualified actors. sory but 1 star.

I think that many people don't give Lazenby enough credit because of a prejudice against On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the only movie in which he played Bond. It was a different sort of Bond movie because it was a love story, and while at the time it did very well it hasn't aged the way the Connery and Moore movies have. I think it is the best of the Bond franchise but recognize that that is very much a minority opinion.

Who? Seriously, the only thing that makes him better than Roger Moore is that he only made one movie. Wish Roger had.

Not as good as Dalton and Connery. Miles better than Moore and Brosnan.

Best Bond Ever.

Second only to Sean in looking like a tough guy, but lacked Sean's charisma. Never had a chance to mature into role.

On Her Majesty's is my favorite Bond film, and Lazenby my favorite Bond. He brought depth to the character that you just don't see in the other ones. He gets criticized for being wooden- but he was playing James Bond acting as a stuffy geneologist. So he did it perfectly in my opinion.

While OK in the looks department, George Lazenby was far too inexperienced to start with a starring role, and vain enough to be oblivious to his failings. A car salesman turned minor model, Lazenby is fine in the action scenes, and gradually gets better as this long movie persists in continuing. If he had done more Bonds, he might have grown into the part. But he might have killed the series while learning on the job. And yes, he did exchange nasty letters with Diana Rigg in the British press.

George Lazenby was a good James Bond. Unfortunately, Lazenby never won the public over. He is, nevertheless, an accomplished actor and stage thespian.

He is great in Fox Hunt (1996)

He just didn't click well as Bond. I think he looked a little too lumpy in the face. Diana Rigg got killed off, and so, apparently, did George's carreer as Bond. Too bad for Diana, but as for George...

George Lazenby ranks at the bottom of my Bond list. Perhaps it was the sole 007 movie he was in as I never liked the feel of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). (James Bond should never get married.) Lazenby played the part with confidence, but he mixed in too much arrogance. Furthermore, it is my understanding that Lazenby hammered his co-star and Bond Girl Diana Rigg in the press. While it would have been better for Roger Moore to have replaced Sean Connery in Secret Service and most certainly in Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Bond fans can be thankful that Lazenby didn't get a second chance with Live And Let Die (1973) and beyond. George Lazenby was born on September 5, 1939 in Goulburn, Australia.

Now this Lazenby guy was a real Bond. 6'2" 186 pounds of rock hard solid granite, a martial arts expert, excellent skiier, excellent horseman, race car driver, motorcycle racer, a real-life playboy, and the number one male super model in the entire world for 4 years prior to taking the Bond role. George beat out 412 other actors for the part of OO7 including: Richard Burton, David Niven, Michael Cain, and Peter O'Toole. This guy Lazenby was an incredible adonis, the biggest alpha male you could ever imagine seeing or meeting in your lifetime, and he was almost ridiculously suave to boot. I know people think Connery and Moore and Brosnan were "suave", but they obviously do not know what the word's definition really is. Look up suave in the dictionary, this Lazenby guy was Cary Grant suave. And of course he even looked almost exactly like a young Cary Grant. The most physical Bond, Lazenby brought a dangerous edge to the franchise. Unfortunately, he was foolish and gave up his license to kill. If he had gone on to make more 007 films, Lazenby would have been one of the best Bonds ever.

Not the best Bond (Connery is that one), but Lazenby starred in the best movie of the whole OO7 series and I give him credit for that.

Smarmy, but less so than Connery, Moore or Brosnan. Needed more time to grow into the role.

I didn't like OHMSS the first time I saw it, and blamed Lazenby, like most seem to do. BUT, after seeing it again on TNN, I really liked it, and was very impressed by Lazenby. He didn't have his tongue permanently implanted in his cheek, he wasn't smarmy, and he seemed to have more "personality" than many of the Bonds we have seen. I could actually believe he felt something, unlike the other Bonds (even Connery) who seem cold.

The one Bond film he represents--On Her Majesties Secret Service--may just be the best one of the series. He doesn't have the charisma of a Connery or Moore, but he was good enough.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is probably my favourite Bond picture because of the beautiful setting (in the Alps) and the great musical score, including that Louis Armstrong number. At the the time it came out I had a bit of a "thing" about Diana Rigg (in the TV series the Avengers). All these "plusses" may have coloured my judgement on George Lazenby, because I rather liked him in the role. He did have the irritating habit of varying his pronunciation of "Piz Gloria", but apart from that he did alright, though not perhaps in Sean's class.

well considering this is the hardest movie to find and i only got to see the last 10 min of it on TBS's BOND WEEK i thought he played it well, though i find it sad that we continue to say oh he was awful we always compare to dear Sean. one person said this actor would of ruined the series if he continued, well i think it has been ruined already by peirce brosnans bad acting, and the extrememly poor scripts such as "the world is not enough" now that Q is gone i find that james bond will not be able to go on especially if brosnan continues to play, and ofcourse the continually failing scripts

I liked the actual storyline (although I find the opening scene a tad confusing), but he was such the wrong person to be casted for it. It really should have been Connery. Great shame, it had a lot of potential.

Too Corny

George Lazenby is an awful Bond. I am certain the series would have been destroyed if he continued as the character.

Poor George, I actullay like the movie that he did. Very sad, the only movie where Bond took a wife and she got killed. I am not sure why he only had the chance to do one movie. Kind of like Ray Rhodes coaching the Packers.
