 | guycmt (0) 09/06/2008 | Pierce Brosnan has been a great james Bond and if it was not for Sean Connery he would be the best. so lets give credit to mister Brosnan while he is no Sean Connery (none of us are) he does a steller job.

 | irishgit (160) 07/19/2007 | He's not bad, but like most of the other actors in the role, often seems too effete for the cold blooded killer that Bond really is.

 | Nihiladrem (4) 07/19/2007 | These were good movies in that they finally have developed the technology to make truly spectacular Bond films. The need to make every relationship that Bond has meaningful is a poor trend that is a side effect of the modern world. Brosnan is the hardest drinking bond which was interesting to see explored. All in all adequate but not spectacular.

 | Victor83 (62) 07/14/2007 | No one will ever equal Connery, but Pierce is a very close second. Sean and Pierce are the only two who were/ are a real-life James Bond...at least when it comes to the ladies.

 | Birse (0) 05/17/2006 | Brosnan's appeal as Bond is totally lost on me. The worst Bond by a mile in my opinion. The action sequences were so clearly watered down for Brosnan and he never appeared willing to put as much effort into them as Dalton, Connery and Lazenby. He always almost seemed as if he was worried a hair might fall out of place or his concealer might smudge.
Brosnan also lacks their sex appeal (too pretty and rather slightly built). Neither could he deliver the straight lines with the same menace as them or the comic lines with the humour of Moore.
I eagerly await Daniel Craig's portrayal who I feel is capable of putting the toughness back into Bond or at the very least can act his way out of a paper bag.

 | SammieW (0) 05/16/2006 | He lacks the masculinity of Connery, Dalton and Lazenby and the comic timing of Moore .......... which leads me to ask was it a slow day at the casting agency when they hired this guy?

 | Beggstealoboro (0) 05/15/2006 | Worst Bond ever in my opinion.
He took the character back 20 years, played it as a hybrid of all his predecessors and added nothing to the role.

 | lakesidebluewaterglad... (1) 05/14/2006 | Ridiculous choice for Bond. Far too puny for a start.
He looks like a shop window dummy and has all the acting skills and charisma of one too.

 | PSILU (0) 05/14/2006 | The worst Bond ever in my opinion. At least Roger Moore was supposed to be humorous. This guy's portrayal is just laughable without trying.

 | cutegurl (17) 06/22/2005 | In my opinion, Brosnan is definetly the best looking and sexiest Bond. If I were ever to be a Bond girl, I would want to be a Brosnan Bond girl. However, his performance overall is just not as good as Connery.

 | dragonman (4) 08/29/2004 | Me being relatively young I would place Pierce Brosnan at the top of the bond list. I admit I haven't seen much of Connery as Bond. Brosnan just seems to be born to play Bond he IS Bond and when he is gone it will be difficult if impossible to see anyone else as Bond. He has the looks, the suave manerism and the intelligence that Bond should have, he is perfect.

 | Sundiszno (32) 03/13/2004 | If you gotta replace Connery with someone to play Bond, Brosnan isn't too bad. Brosnan fits the bill pretty well as to what a contemporary version of the 1960's Bond ought to be. More and more special effects in the Bond movies mean that the acting caliber can slide a little. All in all, he's OK, but doesn't convey the magnetism that Connery did.

 | VirileVagabond (37) 11/25/2003 | In my opinion, Pierce Brosnan comes in third on the list of actors to play James Bond. The primary problem is that he started too late and has already started to age out of the part. The latter Bond films rely too much on action and special effects which doesn't suit his relatively smaller frame and makes the movies too similar to any other action film. As other comments have noted, Broasnan's first Bond movie GoldenEye (1995) was his best and had the strongest script, so perhaps he has suffered from inferior material. Nevertheless, one more film and then the producers should start looking for a replacement. Pierce Brosnan was born on May 16, 1952 in County Meath, Ireland.

 | Eagle Scout (2) 11/19/2003 | Brosnan comes in as second best. Connery in first of course because he is the orriginal. Pierce makes a great modern version though, making him a close second.

 | George_Lazenby_007 (0) 09/30/2003 | This guy is ruining Bond. He is a horribly bad Bond. I can't wait for him to quit. He went from being a tooth pick of a wimp in GoldenEye, to a old man in TWINE, then to a fat slob in DAD.
All the while in all of his films managing to look like the biggest wimp in the movie. Brosnan's bone structure is so small it just is not right for him to be playing Bond. But aside from that, he just can't play the role at all. His performance is plain awful.

 | pabob (2) 09/13/2003 | His style, in my opinion, is more similar to Roger Moore. I think the only knock against him is that only one of the Bond movies he has starred has been good quality and that was Goldeneye. The others were average if not below average. That's not so much Brosnan's fault as much as it is below average script and directing.

 | StanUzbeck (16) 07/26/2003 | Middle of the road. Behind Connery and Moore but miles ahead of Dalton and Lazenby. He's also the handsomest Bond, but there is something a little off about it. I mean, Roger Moore was very nudge-nudge wink-wink, but never directly at the camera. Brosnan is too self-consciously suave and smarmy.

 | anglofyl (0) 05/04/2003 | He has revitalized an ailing franchise, and his movies are top drawer, but he's a bit too pretty for my liking. Bond should be a cold-blooded bastard from time to time, and Remington Steele just can't pull that off.

 | Martin Clegg (0) 02/25/2003 | He seems to be trying to hard, as if this Bond can't really have fun, and he's too politically correct. And I can't see him really holding his own against Jaws or Oddjob

 | callmetootie (5) 07/13/2002 | Pierce is quite good as the all-new James Bond. I likes him alot in Goldeneye and Tommorrow Never Dies. At that point, he was the best James Bond, but in World Is Not Enough, his performance was only sub-par. He seemed to try to be like a clone of Sean Connery.

 | CastleBee (92) 01/25/2002 | Handsome, suave, sophisticated I'll grant you. But something just does not ring quite right with him in this part. He's a little small boned IMO to pull it off. Requires someone with a little more meat on his bones...insist on the original!

 | princessangry (2) 11/29/2001 | He's really suave and really sexy! I love the way he makes james bond look daring and bold with a little twist! I think he's a really great actor and I think he makes the perfect james bond and I like him in all his other movies!

 | bob falange (0) 07/18/2001 | Twenty years ago, when he was Remington Steele, some people said he could be the next James Bond. What a joke, we thought, they'd never cast such a wimp in Sean Connery's role. Well, we were wrong. They did. A huge mistake. If his Bond pictures are popular, they'd be even more so with a "proper" James Bond. Too much "smooth", not enough "grit".

 | dracozny (0) 05/06/2001 | as james bond he puts too much into it, he seems to try to portray a hard up CIA look when bond was really a strong and somewhat playful type always trying to make the wise crack.
peirce seems a bit slender and lacks something james always tried to maintain a smile and true sense of sick humor.
not to mention who ever has written the last of the james bond films has recently obtained a writers stupidity, trying to add action that never could be physically possible

 | PoorOldEdgarDerby (4) 09/21/2000 | I'm going to give Brosnan a four even though he's my third favorite Bond because I think he could rise in the ranks if they carry him correctly. Here's the thing (and after reading some other comments it looks like others agree) he's just a little too much of a Nancy boy. He's delicate like. Sensitive. Precious. You get the picture, right? What they need to do is take this Martha to the gym and work him out a little, Christ what else does he have to do with his time besides prepare for future roles?!?! Beef this Matilda up some and things could turn around for him.

 | eil@9747uk (0) 08/14/2000 | Pierce Brosnan is probably the closest Bond to Connery. He is a very good actor and he has done no wrong with the movies he has made.

 | Blackeye (0) 04/04/2000 | It must have been a gamble for him to take on James Bond because James Bond Movies were becoming very dull and it also look to be only a question of time before it would be scraped. I think Sean is the best however Pierce should be given 5 stars for saving James Bond. I like to see the next James Bond Movie to have a more Hitchcocks influence, to give it a more classic thriller feel to it.

 | SamIAm (5) 02/24/2000 | He's too wimpy looking or something. He doesn't have that assertiveness and innate confidence that is a necessity for Bond.

 | Wiggum (18) 02/24/2000 | I've enjoyed the Brosnan Bond movies so far. But here's the problem: I made the mistake of going to see "The Thomas Crowne Affair," where Brosnan played a Bond-like character. And the movie was just about the worst thing I've seen in years - if they hadn't shown Rene Russo naked, the movie would have been a complete and total disaster. So, even though I'm supposed to rate Brosanan as Bond, it's hard for me to separate out his miserable performance as Thomas Crowne. Still, he's a solid step up from Timothy Dalton.
