OVERRATED!! She may have been cool back in the day, but that was when models weren't up to the standards of today. Ireland-wait, isn't that a country? I thought countries were supposed to be EXOTIC. Oh, she's not so cool? Thought so.

I think she was the first of this elite group of hotties that I can remember drooling over.

Far and away the most beautiful woman ever in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit issues. She is in a world of her own. How dare anyone compate Elle MANpherson to the sexy, alluring Kathy Ireland. She is simply AWESOME!!!

Kathy was the face of SI Swimsuit issues for many years. She did more for the magazine special than any other model. Unfortunately she was not publisized by SI as much as the boyish Elle Macpherson during the same era. Kathy was American born, curvy, and luscious. Elle, was manly, and from Australia. For whatever reason, SI seemed to think she was all that, when really, we all know, Kathy was the sexiest model of our time, and blew Elle off the map. I think Kathy should be #1 on the list.

So dumb it offsets her beauty.

How does one rate these stunning women? I assume we are rating them against a higher standard, namely compared to each other. Under that standard, Kathy Ireland ranks near the top of my personal list (as frankly there is no objectivity on this type of list). (She would be 4.5 stars, but I am rounding Kathy up.) This could be due to the fact that I generally prefer brunettes, or perhaps it is Kathy's piercing green eyes. I also tend to gravitate to square-faced women (though overly angular faces appear masculine to me which could explain why some men do not find Kathy attractive). In her prime, Kathy also exuded a natural, athletic persona, but not overly athletic like Elle MacPherson (in my opinion). Perhaps healthy would be a better descriptive term as opposed to athletic. Anyway, forget what Kathy may have done in the movies, with K-Mart, etc. as this list is about Sports Illustrated swimsuit models. Kathy Ireland was born on March 20, 1963 in Glendale, CA.

I was a newlywed in 1992 delivering gasoline to the 7-11's in Denver. Kathy on the magazine rack drove me to absolute distraction all day long. Her outstanding body and great smile was a nice thing to see everyday for a couple months. I have seen many shots of her over the years, but none seem to even come close to that "earthy" sweet healthy look she beamed from the SI '92 cover. I am disapointed she chose K-Mart to pawn her trailer trash clothes, but I understand she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I never never understood how this person achieved any fame at all. Her face is so very awkward, shaped exactly square like. I've noticed she's trying to age gracefully; I give her kudos for that I guess. But she's trying to sell cheap clothing at KMart because she's way over the hill, in her mid forties and knows she can't pull off SI anymore. I always thought she bordered on very homely, and a horrid figure to boot.

The best there ever was and ever will be...She epitomized the natural "girl next door" beauty without all of the controversy and perversion of the Hollywood Supermodel lifestyle. SHe was my crush in 1982, and has always had a place in my heart.

She is flat in more ways than one, but very ticklish -- you can tell when she giggles from the air rushing through her head. Come on, she peddles her wares at K-Mart, what could be more appropriate for her cheap image?

She is one fine specimen! She's beautiful AND she can act! Her voice is delightful, and she is extremely inspirational in her info-mercials. By the way....that's sarcasm! 2 words for Kathy: washed up!!

I wonder if anyone remembers the picture of Kathy Ireland lying among the lilipads wearing the green bikini?? How could anyone forget it? It could be the best SI swimsuit picture ever from Kathy's first year as an SI model. She more than made up for the loss of Christie Brinkley. She should have kept her whiny, high pitched mouth shut though. Incredible to look at but annoying to listen to.

She was always my favorite in SI. Her eyes are awesome. But, it is only her looks that I am rating. I saw her on Politically Incorrect last night and she is way too right wing for me.
