Joe sucks! He has got to be the worst announcer in history. I try to turn the sound off whenever he is on.

One of the worst announcers I've ever heard. . .just like in his playing days, it's always about Joe. . .his horrible self-centered attitude cost him some respect from more than a few teammates and one ex-wife. . .Joe is the classic jock-in-the-booth who spends far too much time looking into a mirror instead of the game. . .

Great QB even better football announcer!!!
Ih8rateitall 05/24/2006
I like Joe, I enjoy his x's and o's about football.
Opie Onion 01/15/2006
It's somewhat amazing that a guy who actually PLAYED the game can be so inept, inaccurate, and wishy-washy in calling it. He should have enough money to retire, so Joe, take a hike.
gobolts 12/27/2005
Haha well, Theismann is the guy I love to hate. I watch all the Sunday night games and it never fails I will disagree with Joe on almost every disputable detail. He can be a bit annoying as he has a knack for overstating almost everything. And, like I said it seems like he is wrong about 95% of the time.
ChrisO1981 01/12/2005
When does his contract run out... Everyone is watching Sunday Night football, and no one can stand this guy.
Alexg681 01/01/2005
I can't stand this assbrain. He is so annoying I just want to punch the crap out of him. Arrogant as hell, what assface would change the pronunciation of his name to rhyme with Heisman so he could win the Heisman trophy. What a clown, and he thinks he knows a lot and that he was a great QB.
clinevol98 12/21/2004
Mr. Obvious, makes unnecessary comments often.
riffraff 12/12/2004
Mouth Almighty amongst football color men. Changed original pronuniciaion of his name while at Notre Dame (THEESE-man) to rhyme with Heisman thinking it would better his chances of winning the coveted award. Nice try, mouth.

Can't someone shut this guy up?
sfalconer 11/02/2004
Is this guy anoying or what. I used to hate watching the footage of his leg getting broken but every time I listen to him it becomes easy to watch. He is like nails across a chalk board. There is alot better talent out there than this guy.
coleslough 05/28/2004
arrogant from his college days
melott 01/26/2004
Hey Joe, if you just would've gotten out of the pocket things might have been different. Also nice pass to Squirek in SB XVIII.
larry_biz 12/24/2003
Yes, Joe, we know you played for Notre Dame, we know you won the Super Bowl, were the league MVP, that LT broke your leg, and that Joe Theismann's biggest fan is Joe Theismann. All that said, you do know your stuff.
c_warrior 12/23/2003
He's the comedian that Dennis Miller always wanted to be. Oh, he's being serious with his comments???
jgls 12/22/2003
i generally like the broadcast team of theismann, patrick and mcguire though joe can be a bit arrogant.
kman1582 07/17/2003
He is the most biased announcer ever, expecially against the Cowboys! argh.
Datmartin 06/28/2003
IDIOT
bodarc 06/19/2003
This guy's name rhymes with "spit for trains". The worst of all football personalities. Usually doesn't know what's going on because he is trying to get his brain working. Takes me back to the days of Cossell when you had to turn the volume down to watch the game. He's also a jerk in person.
angusmacpherso n 03/23/2003
Excellent analyst and admirable candor in his analysis.
FELZBACH 03/06/2003
Did football exists before this guy invented it? Opinionated and usually wrong.
thinkaboutit27 01/06/2003
I finally have a place to rant and rave about this idiot on television. I can't believe this guy is still on television annoucing games. I thought tv programs have directors and producers. I guess they don't listen to their own broadcasts! Anyways, why do I think Theismann is Terrible. There are several reasons: 1. He starts everything off with, 'You know what I believe...' I can honestly care less what you believe on how something should be done. It's easy to say how he would have done it AFTER the play was called and didn't work. 2. Those stupid, is it a 4th down or 1st down measurement calls with Paul Maguire. 3. I have seen this numerous times. He actually calls out the wrong player COMPLETELY and no one in the booth corrects him. I mean, if you're a novice fan or someone who likes to get to know players, he is NOT one to watch. I have TIVO so I like watching him make retarded insights on what is going on and the total nonsense that comes out of his mouth. ESPN really needs to do something about him.
wmassie 12/19/2002
I love Joe. He is one of the few guys that isn't afraid to tell the audience when a guy screws up.
maddmarxx 01/09/2001
Joe would get a 1 if it weren't for an incident where he referred to an all out blitz by the defense as "the old fudgepack play."Paul Maguire was still laughing five minutes later,as I'm sure much of the viewing audience was.Of course Joe had no idea what he had just said.
