I hate that fukn idiot Bill Walton! Hes fukn biased and he states the obvious, just like John Madden. He should keep his fukn mouth shut n his teeth tucked in cuz hes so fukn annoying. Hes just another arrogant retired basketball player, just like Barkely, both peas ina pod.....they should make em both committ suicide at the same time because they r worthless pieces of shit. I hate Waltons voice especially! Talks like a fukn uneducated moron. I can go on and on, I HATE THAT MOTHERFUKER

Walton is one of the most humorous and random NBA commentators out there. He is to the NBA what Dick Vitale is to college basketball as far as genuine enthusiasm and knowledge about the inner workings of the game at that level. Walton does a great job on his NBA broadcasts and combines humor with solid insight.

I've read the comments on this page about Bill Waltons announcing and I can tell by the responses most of them are not true sports fans. A true sports person uderstands Bill's approach to broadcasting which is very upfront and connected to the action. This guy was one of the greatest players to ever play the game which means he has a very high basketball IQ and when he's giving his color analyst you can tell its kind of personal. Its almost as if he's wishes he can go in the game and help correct the problems he sees or join in on the fun. And I for one appreciate that style. I would say the people who know the game understands bills reactions and comments and all of the scrubs that wasent good, rode the bench or never got picked don't. So if you want Ted koppel to do your color analizing maybe you need to get into another sport...like golf or poker....Basketball is a game of emotion.

Bill Walton has never uttered a sentence without using a superlative. You'll notice he can't always take a joke well, either. You call these shortcomings, I call them additional reasons to watch a game when Bill's courtside.

Simply put...his voice, style and take on the game all grate on me. I can't enjoy any game he is broadcasting. I was actually on a flight with him once, he has the personality of an old shoe.

I'm not a big fan of hippies, but in sports the Deadhead attitude runs so much against the grain it's almost punk. Walton is so self-effacing and off-the-wall that he's great to listen to. Walton has a studio in San Diego which my brother's piss-poor stoner band was allowed to use to make a record.

He's my favorite ESPN basketball guy, but he just isn't as good as most of the TNT guys. It' funny as hell when he's doing a Lakers game, and the other guy asks him about Luke, and he just tries to downplay the fact that his son plays for the Lakers, and tries not to overcompliment him, to the point that he doesn't give Luke the credit he deserves. Very high rating on the unintentional comedy scale.

Regardless of his playing abilities when he was healthy,he reeks as an announcer, and as person in general. He's nauseatingly left-wing,still the '60s/'70s hippie radical he's always been, and like such a-holes,he's self-loathing towards his own race, and plays the race card at any moment.Represents everything this country has (Rightfully) hated about the Baby Boom Generation.Find some hippie commune to retire to ,drop all the acid you want, listen to your favorite band( The Grateful dead )all you want,go away forever, and give the Real World back to us of common sense.

Bill Walton is nightmare. If I turn to a game that I'm only semi-interested in and I hear Walton's voice, I won't watch it. His comments are dramatic and outdated--I'm tired of hearing him compare today's players to guys like Kurt Rambis and Bob Cousy. We get it Bill, the league was a lot better when you played. If I hear him talk about how nice a player's body is one more time, I think I'm going to puke.

I like Walton a lot. He is one of the few color announcers who is unafraid to criticize anything he sees as bad. His lines can be ridiculous, but the NBA game has gotten so tired he makes it easier to stomach. To of my favorite quotes I can remember him saying are the following: "Somebody make a lay-up." "The worst pass in the history of the Spurs."

Gotta love Big Bill. Provides good insight- often very unique insight, if not a bit peculiar, interesting none the less. I like every game he does. I am sure he has his critics, but I enjoy his style.

You people who hate Walton have serious issues. How is he not funny? Because you take sports a liiiiiiiiitle too seriously? Anyone who says they don't like Walton is just being spiteful and/or has no sense of humor at all.

A horrible commentator. One of the worst things to happen to the NBA. One of the guys who continually shrugs off being wrong all the time. Cannot stomach him at times. Steve 'Snapper' Jones looks like a genuis next to Big Red.

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Deserves negative stars and we should be allowed to deduct any stars anyone else has given him. He is BY FAR the WORST announcer on TV! He exaggerates the smallest play and is just wrong in his analysis. He has a bad voice and takes himself WAY too seriously. He'll slow down his speech and say something like he's really making a key point and I just cringe. How he got his job and KEPT it is a mystery. Probably some TV execs in LA who knew him at UCLA or were Celtics fans.

The biggest problem I find with Bill Walton is that he thinks that his team (Blazers) are the only team in the history of the NBA that deserve the title. Even the years they didn't win! I do think that he is so bad, he is funny - not GOOD. But I degress to his biased comments. I believe I once heard him say that the bulls of the 90's were not really very good.

Bill Walton has to be one of the most annoying people to ever live. I love the NBA but this idiot can even ruin a Mavericks Kings game. He thinks he is the cleverest announcer on TV, but I have seen earwax with a higher IQ.

You will understand Walton better if you realize that 99.99999% of everything he says is said to get a reaction. I used to hate him, but after I realized he didn't even believe what he was saying I just started cracking up with laughter. My favorite was watching Michael Olawakandi make a bank shot from 2 feet a couple years ago that a 6 year old could make. Walton shouted Olawakandi! where has this guy been for 3 years? Finnaly becoming the player everyone thought he would be when they drafted him. He was then slammed by everyone the next day on messages boards. Can't people see what he is doing? its all 100% sarcasm. Nothing he says is serious..... I mean nothing!

Political views belong in debates and on C-Span, not courtside at an NBA game. Come up for breath every now and then. I wish it was your mouth that went instead of your ankles.

Bill Walton's excellence on the hardwood is only surpassed by his work in the booth. Arguably, he is the single greatest center to ever become a broadcaster! NBC letting him get away to ABC has to be the single greatest blunder in the history of sports broadcasting. Why isn't this guy calling every game!!

Without doubt, this idiot is the single biggest reason the NBA finals had such a poor rating this year. Who can listen to his babbling arrogance? Somebody please shove him back thru the sphincter he fell out of... I'm an NBA fan, but he makes the game unlistenable. Sports producers, you gotta get away from him, he stinks.

Bill Walton is the most ridiculous human being in the history of the world. This is what he would say about himself if he were comentating his own biographical show. He always tries to come up with the definitive statement, the last word. It came to a pinnacle when he proclaimed that the present champion san antonio spurs had one of the greatest defenses of all time! How absurd.

I hate Bill Walton. His front teeth poke out so far that they could have used him instead of a horse to play Mr. Ed. That annoying @ss voice... ugh, I can hear it in my head now... it sounds like the tip of his tongue is glued to the roof of his mouth. "Nice paaaaasss..." Shut the #@$%! up! It was just like the pass he made 10 seconds ago! Somebody break his face.

Bill Walton is an embarassment to the game. He says absolutely nothing meaningful and none of it is funny. My family agreed to watch the Christmas Day Kings/Lakers game with the mute on because none of us could stand him. Did anyone else cheer when Arizona was knocked out of the NCAA tourney because Big Dumb's kid was on the team?

Bill Walton is so bad that I find audio coverage of the NBA games online so that I don't have to listen to his biased, inane drival. When he covered the Houston Rockets championship series, he showed such utter hatred and disdane for Texas and other southern teams that I thought he should have been fired then. ABC obviously just keeps him for the controversy factor.
