I can imagine it would be a bit embarrassing no matter what age the consumer is, but especially for younger people who are forced to wear them due to health problems.

Hell no. Walk up the the cashier with a pack of them and several cases of beer on a Saturday, and announce that you plan to spend all of Sunday sprawled on the couch watching football and you "aren't going to miss a second of it."
