Champagne, whisky, wine, vodka, rum, tequila. Whatever works.

Yeah, right. Facing a brand new year through glazed eyes and a hangover. Well, no thanks!
zuchinibut 12/31/2008
I'll drink just one glass if people are toasting with champagne, but then I'll head right back to whatever else I was drinking.
Mike D2236 12/22/2008

I always have a couple of really good bottles lying in the rack for a celebration.
trebon1038 03/27/2008
Of course to be politically correct, any sparkling wines not made in the Champagne region of France are supposed to be called just that...sparkling wine! Personally however I don't care! As long as its not too sweet, I like it...top of the line or not.

Champagne is the perfect drink to have before a nice meal, to cleanse the palette. It also has something in it that makes you really happy :) Drink of choice for me!
twansalem 03/27/2008
I was glad I brought champagne to this last New Year's Eve party, because I was the only person who even thought to bring any. Four or five people brought sparkling grape juice, but not champagne. Yet when it was time to start pouring, most people opted for the champagne. Kind of funny, huh?
sperryc 03/27/2008
A must.
lucy2 12/30/2007
You gotta do it once a year. You let off some steam that's been bottling up all year long with a bottle (of bubbly that is) and voila..you can face the year ahead
MariusQelDroma 12/29/2005
I'll trade mine for a double shot or Rimplemintz to salute the changing of the guard.

I don't like the stuff but it deserves a 5 for all those that do.
kamylienne 04/03/2003
I don't personally drink, but I think it can add to the festivities for those who do. Why not?
reeny 03/18/2003
It's tradition to have the bottle of bubbly on the eve of the New Year! The eve just would not be right without it.
BIGBABY 02/18/2003
C'mon. How can you have a New Year's party with no alchol?
addicted 10/28/2002
i think it's always a nice touch, and i'm partial to asti.
abichara 01/02/2002
Yeah, you need champagne to ring in the new year. Some people prefer beer, but me, well, I'm just a bit more traditional.
Potch1214 11/28/2001
Champagne is okay, but I prefer a nice cold bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale at midnight!
afterglow70 06/22/2001
If you don't have a mag of champagne, then a fine beer will do for you! I find that Boulevard wheat is nice and tasty on a fine night such as New Years. Although, I would like a bottle of the best champagne.
Teaseress 02/15/2001
I don't like champagne, but I try to have a sip then I pass it on to my future mother-in-law as she loves the stuff! But I do think its something to have.
Miami Boy 12/31/2000
over-rated - give me a Grolsch please!
Mark0s 11/24/2000
You can't have a new year without a bottle of champagne, it is almost compulsory
mart415om 12/31/1999
Definitely a must have in NYE. But, why only on New Year's? Champagne is great ANY time of the year.
john430et 12/30/1999
Champagne -- very important. For example, I've got dozens of cases of Miller High Life (the champagne of beers) down in my bunker.
elsi729om 12/29/1999
Definitely! The best you can afford!
Shafty 12/29/1999
Not a big fan of the sprakilung wine, but it is a tradition andI cannot imagine NTE without it!
SamIAm 12/29/1999
You can not ring in the New Year properly without a sip of bubbly!
