I can't stand this song.

Still the one song that can save any party. The only thing stopping me from giving a 5 is the fact that 1999 was 5 years ago now. Remember when it came out in '82 it seemed so far away?

It was a good song in 1999, even in the 80's, and still is. I would be proud to play this song at full volume on New Year's Eve. :) And to heck with anyone who don't like it :)~~~

It's a bit out-of-date at the moment, not to mention overplayed. Before 1999, it was kind of cute (to an extent). I can definately do without it, though.

Why would you ring in any other year but 2000 with "1999"? You'd be pretty out of date, like Prince, if you did that this year or any year in the future.

While more of a necessity for last new year's, 1999 is a requirement to fully enjoy the night. I thought I was so cool when I put the CD on at last year's party.
