Love Spike. He belongs on a tropical island somewhere street vending. Not as cool as Joe Cool, but cool in his own way.

Spike helps us to learn what is important in life. He isn't materialistic. He doesn't need a lot to be happy. His hat was from his dad and his shoes were a gift from Mickey Mouse and he doesn't even own the rock he sleeps on but he's happy and he shows us how to appreciate what we have.

Spike is a ramblin' beagle who chills with the coyotes outside of Needles with his pal a cactus. I'm pretty sure Joni Mitchell had him in mind when she wrote 'The Last Time I Saw Richard'.

Poor Spike living all alone in the middle of the dessert with only cactuses to talk to, it must get so boring

Spike is fun. He's probably so thin because there isn't much to eat in the dessert. Snoopy's brother has to be great. And doesn't Snoopy have another brother named Andy?

Snoopy's brother who lived in the desert is very interesting and I think he deserves high marks. He is what he is and he's happy about it.

was this really necessary?

Sorely underappreciated Peanuts character. He served as Snoopy's alter-ego, who lived independently and did his own thing.

Spike was sweet, but was never as popular as his dear brother, Snoopy. Spike should have had his own spin-off comic strip.

What? A thin beagle who lives in Needles? Say no more, say no more... a nod's as good as wink to a blind man.

No point to it.

Snoopy's cousin, right? I was never able to stand his cheasy Prince-circa-1984 mustache.

I only vaguely remember the mysterious Spike (a cowboy-ish version of Snoopy, right?) from the Charlie Brown books of my youth. I think I was reading them around the same time Happy Days introduced its own oddball Spike character (Fonz's younger-than-Chachi nephew that dug Joanie). In any case, Spike was a welcome addition but I'm glad he didn't become a regular.
