 | trebon1038 (65) 05/10/2006 | What I love about the dog that played Benji was how old this dog was! The dog from Pettycoat junction was getting up in years by the time his movie career took off. And Im not sure but I think Benji was played by a female...but don't quote me on it! LOL

 | AndrewScott (73) 07/11/2003 | Benji is easily my favorite Hollywood dog of all time. Uniquely, Benji movies are all told from the dog's point-of-view. No narrator. No silly talking animals. And remarkably, the floppy-eared mixed breed terrier expressed emotion and conveyed situations better than many human actors. It's also of note that Benji was discovered in an animal shelter (much better source for adopting pets than for-profit puppy mills which inbreed with disregard to the genetic defects they cause). Benji was the best.

 | catherine yronwode (0) 02/23/2003 | Benji is played by Higgins, one of the most intelligent, cute, and emotive dogs ever to be filmed. The plot is fairly simple, but the dog acting is complex and brilliantly conceived. Higgins is so talented that your eyes stay on him all the time. The slo-mo soft-focus love scenes between Benji and Tiffany are filmic classics of their era (complete with yellow flowers in fields of green), and with the passing years, the location shots of early 1970s rural Texas towns also assume a nostalgic glow. Joe Camp's solid family values, Frank Inn's amazing dog training skills, and the sheer charisma of the wonderful Higgins make "Benji" one of the best dog movies of all time.

 | Molfan (60) 01/29/2003 | Benji is one smart talented dog. I remember seeing the original Benji{ Higgins} in Petticoat junction. he was cute then. When I saw the first Benji movie. He was amazing what he could do in that movie.Sure the movie itself is okay. The dog good do so much. the other dog that played Benji in the following movies was well trained too. Frank Inn sure has a talent with animals.Benji is such an adorable dog and to think he came from dog pound, good thing he was given a home.

 | CastleBee (85) 01/08/2002 | Only one of the cutest dogs on the face of the earth, Benji was also one of the most popular back during the run of his series of movies in the ‘70’s. Before he was “discovered” and made it to the big screen he spent a lot of time ripping around the Shady Rest hotel on “Petticoat Junction”. You’d have to be a creep not to love this plucky little guy.

 | Thorne (3) 06/28/2001 | How can anyone not love Benji? He is such an adorable little pooch. Everytime I see him I just want to grab him and give him a big hug. Not only is he cuter than hell, he is smart as...well...something really smart and can solve problems (Snap of the fingers)< just like that! A cute, lovable, intelligent little dog. Like they say, dynamite comes in small packages!
