I became tired of the Emmy Awards years ago because the award the most boring pop shows. Arrested Development won, for instance, but they never would have dreamed giving an Emmy to a much better FOX show like That 70's Show.

A real strange experience. I couldn't sit through the whole show, but what I did see was slow and oddly conceived. Ellen Degeneres seemed to need a nap, and the "Emmy Idol" numbers were the strangest things I've ever seen. Donald Trump singing the theme song from Green Acres? And the William Shatner/Frederica theme from Star Trek was embarrasing. Who thinks up this stuff? I think I get the picture: if CBS hosts the telecast, then even the most tired CBS shows have to win (Raymond, again). Ho hum.

So boring!! Actual entertaining programs were completely ignored ... Ellen DeGeneres made the right move by going to the lady's room and throwing up .. she knows a bow wow when she sees it(!) ... If anyone actually met Doris Roberts, they would see how UN-funny she really is - pain in the neck is more like it! Television is a business ... not entertainment The industry's self-promotion should be the highlight of a year, not the most boring 3 hours on the planet!!

This emmy award show was the epitome of horrible. Ellen Degeneres jokes were lame and extremely dry. How often do you have to beat a joke to the ground and why even have a host. Ellen was on the screen for maybe 10 minutes total during the whole show. Does she actually get paid for that? Anyways the awards were predictable, happy to see Lost won for best drama. Its nice to see new winners. Also Jon Stewart was hysterical, he should've hosted. Emmy Idol was the most retarded idea ever born. Like I really want to see stars singing. And was the guy from CSI and Macy Gray drunk or high. What the hell was that performance?! Anyways, total waste of time, next year I am just going to read the highlights on the internet.

Worst Emmy Awards show by far. So boring and predictable. I was completely appalled that shows such as Every One Loves Raymond was awarded so much... for what?? I feel like every show was about the same damn thing every week!! Then there's a truly creative show, like Six Feet Under, that was completely ignored. They didn't even show any camera shots of any of the actors from Six Feet all night. That was there last season and they received no recognition!!! The ppl that vote are obviously leaning towards voting on what the public views as "Good TV" more so than true creative writing and talent.

Why can't American tv look and sound more American. More WASPy. NYC and LA are great with great people, but, boy, I wish they wouldn't dictate what our culture should be by controlling the media.

Who gives a damn about watching a bunch of overpaid, mentally deficient, self-serving actors? Why would anyone want to watch this crap?

When you look at that huge horde of people, dressed in expensive rented clothes, preening in front of the cameras, do you ever wonder how much money was spent getting dolled up like that? And a lot of those people, dripping with diamonds, are the same ones who call you cold-hearted and say you don't care about the poor because you want a tax cut. HA HA

I never watch the show really. I like to read in the paper who won, but I'm not about to sit for three hours to find out. Besides, the right people don't win enough times for me to justify watching it.

Yeah, I don't mind the Academy Awards, but the Emmys are just pathetic. It just seems even more like a bunch of mediocre hacks congratulating themselves for making banal and obvious crap. I've seen TV, and no one should be winning awards for whatever it is that they show on there. I mean, there's good stuff on TV sometimes, but it almost never occurs during one of the sitcoms or one of those interchangeable doctor/lawyer/cop dramas.

Actors who work hard should be rewarded for it. Since most people have at least 1 TV, they are watching it and get to know a lot of personalities through the years. The Emmy's are more interesting because you usually recognize the actors and often know who you want to win.

What is with the Emmy's? Does anybody really watch this? It is completely boring-unless there is a funny host. These last emmy's aren't a complete waste, Conan O'brien is hillarious.

Didn't Ellen DeGeneres win an Emmy once? Cool! :-)

WOW!!!! Wonderful, funny, and such a touching awards presentation!

The show is boring. The same things are nominated and win every year. It's more of a popularity contest than an awards show, IMHO.

I think the Emmys are great! It's the only show that let's you recognize great shows and actors.

The Emmy awards has to be the dullest awards show around. Every year its the same nominees and winners: Frasier, ER, Law and Order, NYPD Blue, The X-Files, Gillian Anderson, Julianna Margulies, etc. There's nothing new or exciting. If you showed me last year's taping of the awards show, I 'd be unable to tell if it were this year's or last year's ceremonies.

As the awards show honoring TV, it must serve a purpose - but man is it BORING. If someone offered me $25 to watch the whole thing, I think I'd turn them down.
