This sets a new tone to do the awards without all the hoopla. Perhaps we can do the Oscars and the other awards sessions the same way? Big improvement.

I would have liked to see Hollywood bending over to kiss its own ass yet again...

Hello Golden Globe Organizers and Stars: Did some one actually write for the previous Golden Globe shows? The intros, small talk, forced humor, and dialogue? If that's the case then there has been 65 years of writers being paid for celebrities misronouncing names and little else. You took the fun, the freedom and the spirit out of the show. We pay the celebrities to show up and "perform." Dog and pony shows need no writers and they need no cue card clichés. The writers will not make up the money they have already lost for years to come regardless of the resolution. And the guttless "starts" need to remember that they serve at the public's discretion. Grow a backbone, or at least open a dictionary and learn to speak for yourself. Chicago Critic

Perhaps the only good thing to come out of the writer's strike so far (no, the resurrection of American Gladiators doesn't count) has been the much-improved Golden Globes -- no red carpet, no acceptance speeches, no paparazzi; just two no-name hosts showing clips of the nominees and then naming the winners. The fast pace almost made up for the hosts' pitiable attempts to fill up all the awkward silence. Are we allowed to celebrate?

Years ago, it was fun! Now there's the media everywhere, to report the minutest details of what they wear, who sucks up to whom, etc! But at least it's not as tense as the Academy Awards show. (I know, all that wine, etc!)

The Golden Globes run at a nice pace. They can be rather bland but for viewers who don't like their time wasted with a host who does a 5 to 10 minute monologue with jokes that either score or fall flat, and stupid musical numbers then the Golden Globes would be your kind of award shows. It honors tv and movies so there is bound to be something for almost everyone. Still glitzy and glamorous but perhaps not as much so as The Oscars.

"I want to be the Oscars" Show

Not too interesting as the others, lacks sense of humor, but at least it's more fair then the others.

It's like an Oscar show but better. Maybe because it doesn't have all the pressure as the Oscars, it lets the world recognize true talent!

I'm not a big fan of award shows to begin with but this one is kind of cool because you see the stars from almost all areas of the entertainment world.

The Pre-Oscar show is what it should be called. The Golden Globes do not predict who is going to win the Oscar..they just say that to get people to watch..Is this award even that big of a deal? What the heck is a golden globe..for that matter who the heck are Oscar and Emmy?

I am not so sure where these awards come from.

Basically worthless - a poor man's Oscars. The only thing it's good for is generating hype for potential Oscar candidates.
