Why is AMA generally either RnB-Rap or country? What happened to musical diversity? Why no representation of other music styles such as classical, bluegrass-banjo, new age, synthetic music? Go to the nearest music store and see 100 plus different sections

My most enjoyable monment was when I heard Duran Duran. Many experts say the 80s was the richest era for music. Todays tune is pretty boring, it's all the same, pretty much Beyonce's style, voice, rythm. Tons of copycats

Who in the heck invited Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to the award show!? They should be banned from all award shows for life period. That sick dude who invited them to the show should be fired and given a $900 fine for it. Due to this sick and uncalled for discision, I must vote the award show down.

The only bright moments of a disgustingly dreary and noxious night were: 1) Carrie Underwood's Vocal performance and win for "Breakthrough Artist of The year", beating out some stiff competition from other genres. 2) And seeing Lionel Richie's performance, that brought back memories of a multitude of his captivating and engaging songs.

Over all pretty boring. All package and no substance. Except I applaud them for having the Dixie Chicks as performers. I just wish they would have let them perform 'I'm not ready to make nice'.

The show was soooooo boring! Too many of the same-sounding acts. No super stars aside from Mariah Carey and even she was boring!

I did not watch this mess but I heard hardly any showed up to pick up there "award". How can the Black Eyed Peas get best Pop/Rock and best Hip Hop/Rap group. Takes me back to the Jethro Tull heavy metal award they got some years back. This show proves beyond a shadow of a dought that there are way to many, so called, award shows.

After tuning into the American Music Awards, I realized that music is of no consequence to this “Award Show”. When the only thing worth seeing is the Eurhythmics, they can take stock that their show was a complete dud. I have not seen a bomb like this since the nuclear testing in the Nevada desert. Maybe the public needs an award show that honors true musicians and artists. Final verdict: AWFUL SHOW!

Is it just me or was Lindsay Lohan not able to hit a note?

The American Music Awards has little significance (compared to the Grammy Awards) and not much youth appeal (compared to the MTV awards). These awards probably aren't meaningful to anyone anymore. People tune in only because a couple big names may be out there trying to promote a new album through a live performation.

When the best draw America can come up to host the American Music Awards is a vulgur raunchy family that should be the benchmark for what American kids should not be, and 75% of the winners are not intelligent enough to make an acceptance speach with a word longer than "yo", music is finally heading to the gutter. "Raymond's wife" (I can't recall her name right now) was the only one with enough guts to do the right thing. She walked out. Next year, I'll just turn it off.

What do Americans need this for when they already have both MTV Video Music Awards & Billboard Music Awards witch actually represent the people? :-(

If this thing is supposed to represent the "voice of the people," then why didn't we have a chance to vote? And what makes this one different from the Billboard awards? There are too many of these shows as it is, so why not dump this one?
