This would be a lot more interesting if they allowed the competitors to mount some antique cannon and duel it out.

Though grossly elitist the event certainly had a grand cachet and a great story up until the 1980's with the US having never lost the cup since competition began. However, it lost all credibility with me the moment the US altered the rules and entered a catamaran back in the late '80's or '90's. It became a true joke - was the frustration of losing to the Aussies just too much?

Another one of those events you need to understand to really get into. I can watch some of it because I like strategic things but I probably couldn't sit through all of it.

Next to the Masters, the single greatest sporting event on the planet. Before anyone flames me, I'm a competitive sailor. I do it for the rum and the nooky.

I find the America's Cup to be very therapeutic. Its kind of like watching "This Old House", you're not sure why you watch, but you enjoy it all the same.

Let's add watching paint dry and grass grow to this list and see if they rank higher than this.

I'm not sure what I'd rather watch on TV less: this or golf.
