This is an absolutely fantastic game. I bought it in 2002, and I'm taking it for another spin now in 2009. The gameplay and storyline are both fantastic, even for someone who has completed it countless times before. One of my favourite games of all time, and this series has many of my favourite video game characters.

I dont think its the best game for the system - FF7 was my favorite but this game for what it is, story, action, and strategy is very good.

Hands Down! I mean now! this game is a masterpiece done with creative art! It has a true emotinal feel to it. The main character, Snake is awesome! Smart plot great game!

A fantastic game that has its faults, but I wouldn't do the game justice if I gave it less than 5 stars. This game has excellent gameplay and a well done, complex story. Another poster is correct in saying the game is too short, but this is a game you will likely find yourself playing through more than once. The only other bad part of the game is that once in a while the movie scenes will really start to ramble and go wildly off the storyline. That said, this game is not to be missed if you are a PlayStation or PS2 owner.

Terrific game...intriging storyline, awesome voice cast, & enough twists & turns for a replay value. Eagerly awaiting Metal Gear Solid 2.

Everyone at ign.com thinks that MGS is the best Playstation game. I have to disagree. It is a very good game with a good story and great dialogue, but it only takes around 10 hours to beat your first time through. After that, you can go through in as little as 6 hours without skipping dialogue. I do enjoy playing it, and it is fun, but don't expect an unbeliveably good game that is better than FF7.
