 | VirileVagabond (32) 07/17/2006 | Of the first three installments of the "Myst" series (the only ones that I've played), the original "Myst" holds the middle position but remains a classic. Measured by its contemporaries (~1995), the game and puzzles were very complex, the worlds/graphics were vivid to the eyes and ears, and the game play was more non-linear. Moreover, for current gamers who have never experienced "Myst," I understand that there is a newer version that uses more modern technology. The bottom line is that "Myst" (along with its successor "Riven") is a "must play" for anyone interested in adventure video games (if not only to experience this milestone of the genre).

 | Yorthan (0) 04/13/2004 | As a 3-D rendering demonstration, it was unsurpassed in its time. And the books lying around to be read were interesting. But the puzzles seemed little more than arbitrary roadblocks that lead up to one of the most anti-climactic game endings to date.

 | Genku (0) 11/19/2002 | Greatest Game Of All Time, 2nd only to.. Riven (MYST 2.)
I love this game, it may be over some people's heads but this game does in fact have a storyline, and a well built inthralling storline at that. If you don't understand why it's such a great game, read the journals. Play the game. Beat it. The end isn't the best but.. *gasp* There is a sequel that starts right after the end of the last game. Wow, the end is a completly different game. But wait.. thats not the end either.. Perhaps the ending has not yet been written.

 | digi210 (0) 06/27/2002 | I loved MYST. It did not operate properly with Windows ME, it gets through the first board lets you go into one other world and does not work. Although, MYST works exceptionally well and beautifully with Windows XP (Professional). I loved the game and I would play it again, It is a definite keeper to hand down to my daughter. I can not wait to try its siblings...LOL.

 | sargeras69 (0) 11/27/2000 | Although it's interactive, I don't like engine it's built on. They should incorporate different aspects besides a point and click to sold the puzzle games.

 | Paste (0) 11/24/2000 | The puzzles are intriguing and a challenge. The graphics are pretty good, but there are not enough movie sequences. This game has no replay value, because once you learn the puzzles the challenge is gone.

 | HBK2K (0) 11/21/2000 | This game is alright. It was a first person adventure game. The graphics were great, the challenge was good, there was lots of problem solving. The thing I didn't like was the lack of interaction with other players.

 | elayson (0) 11/20/2000 | This game is very hard to beat. There is no guide to help you beat it. The levels are endless.

 | yowazup (0) 11/15/2000 | Horrible graphics, no real challenges, and it's not one of those games you can just download and play... there's a thick book you got to read first.

 | parata (0) 11/15/2000 | For its time a fun game. Requires knowledge, skill and most of all, time. The game was thought too high for way two long and now has been surpassed by much better. It was copied way too much.

 | whitesatin (0) 11/14/2000 | The mystery, suspense, graphics, and fantasy themed plot are all satisfactory to me, but the fact that it is also a puzzle type game makes it a bit more challenging for me, personally, than expected. It is difficult to know exactly what to do at just the right time, which is essential for the game to proceed. To a beginner, the clues often show less than they are entitled to.

 | chunk (0) 11/13/2000 | Myst used innovative technology. It was one of the earlier games that helped out the world of PC gaming. This was the first PC game that I got addicted to.

 | gotrice (0) 11/08/2000 | I love this game because this game is full of 3-D graphics and it is very challenging.

 | bort (0) 11/06/2000 | This game is stupid. You click, and click, and click and that's it. It's pointless. I get bored and do a lot of weird things, but I'm not bored enough to play this game. I have to test it for work, and I dread playing it.

 | downlow650 (0) 11/02/2000 | Another role playing game. This looks even better on PC because it looks real. I like the graphics they show.

 | cacex (0) 11/01/2000 | I find the game too difficult with many problems that seem to have no answer.

 | jplsp (0) 10/31/2000 | A classic milestone game, but not to my liking. If you get rid of the flashy graphics and animated sequences, there is not much left to this game. The story is dull, the puzzles are not connected to the story or to each other, and the ending is plain terrible.

 | Sponge (0) 10/30/2000 | Myst is the first of it's kind; a 3D live action, first person, 3D animated complete world. Myst does not just make you think but makes you use some common sense. Just when you think you have "figured it out", you find out you are wrong.

 | shottaymo (0) 10/30/2000 | A timeless classic that is a PC legend. Myst has it all whether you're an experienced player or a beginnner- you'll love Myst. The graphics, the gameplay and the strategy make it a must.

 | stoop415 (0) 10/30/2000 | Kickass graphics, good gameplay, well thought out storyline makes other action games seem like crap. If I had a better system the game would've been much better.

 | rseymour (0) 10/23/2000 | Myst is a really cool game. It has stunning visuals and imaginative plotting. It's really nice to see game designers try to get away from just blowing stuff away. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that it does get a little slow, even boring after awhile.

 | suav8340om (0) 07/09/2000 | A good storyline. The graphics show images as real lifesize. The digital inferences make images color related to eachother.

 | espe2511du (0) 12/04/1999 | Myst is a perfect example of an overly hyped game with no content; "interactive" is certainly not an appropriate term for so limited of a gaming atmosphere.

 | gte01594du (0) 11/24/1999 | Myst has really good graphics & great puzzles but its kind of short.
