07/17/2006 | Of the first three installments of the "Myst" series (the only ones that I've played), "Riven" (the second) is the strongest. The game is more complex (five disks at the time of release (1997)) than its series predecessor, the worlds are detailed and engaging (as expected from the "Myst" series), the puzzles are complex and lengthy, the play is more non-linear than "Myst" (and much more than "Exile"), and the replay value is surprisingly good for a game of this type. The bottom line is that "Exile" (along with the original "Myst") is a "must play" for anyone interested in the adventure video game genre.

07/06/2003 | Wow! That's what I thought when I played riven - it is so beautifully made and puts you in a really good mood. That is, if you aren't stuck with any of the puzzles.. Some of them are really difficult, but not unsolvable. It's worth buying just for the wonderful world they've created! You will need quite a lot of time to play though...

10/30/2000 | Riven is one of those games, I guess. Riven is one of those games that people will start calling you a computer nerd for. Riven's graphics are lifelike and the puzzles are mind boggling. Riven is not a game that you will be able to play once and a while. You won't stop playing until you beat it.

09/25/2000 | I just got a computer about 5 days ago, and along with that computer, I had to buy a game. I had heard a lot about Myst, so I bought the new version of Myst, which is Riven. I have only played once so far, so my comment will change once I get more experience, but as of right now, I am amazed at the game. It was so weird. It is this world made up of 5 CDs. You just along the world trying to figure it out. It amazes me that someone came up with this idea and created this world. It is very cool. I can see how computer games can become addicting.
