12/09/2004 | More of a polished engine than the original Quake engine, especially with 3d acceleration. The single player is only good for training and learning the maps. Multiplayer is where Q2 has always shined.

08/19/2004 | This game would have had another star but Quake 3 is better I think. However, I played Q2 for a long time. Some coworkers and I would play it during lunch at work, and sometimes after work. It rocked. It's so much better if you play multiplayer over a network or the internet. Single player is too easy. We even added the WOD (weapons of destruction) pack, which gave us a flamethrower (a riot watching someone's head on fire and hearing them yell ow.. ow... uhh, ow.. LOL), a guided rocket, and (my personal fav) the cataclysm grenade. We also downloaded different maps to play in (the giant kitchen was my fav). Quake 2 is an awesome game.

I think it is the greatest game of the whole network games!!!!! Because Quake 2 is a very cool, wicked and nice game. And if you are gaming on the internet you can also chat with your m8!!!
I always play Quake 2 on the internet versus pro's. I am still a rookie but one day i will become a pro. This game has let me see the light again. Quake 2 is life, Life is Quake 2!!!!!

11/19/2000 | This game is great. It was a good improvement over the original. Better graphics, sound, music, monsters, and weapons. It had a lot more story. The graphics were fantastic. They were not beautiful and colorful like Unreal, but they were very realistic. There was this one part of the game where I was walking through a hall, and the graphics looked so real I felt like I was walking through a photograph. Also, the return of the BFG made the game feel a lot more like the Doom games. It is also just as customizable as Doom2. Overall, the game is great. I hope Id continues to make shooters like this. This is probably my favorite first person shooter.

05/27/2000 | The intro movie was awesome. Now Carmack and crew need to spend time enhancing the AI and making the regular gameplay more challenging.
