This game is real good to learn stealing. Its a game to play, when you are good enough playing actiongames quietly.Killing other peoples are not the aim of the game. The aim is to steal money and other things you need. All together its a good game for everyone!

Thief was an exciting entry into a new genre "Stealth em Up" so the second installment had a lot to live up to. Thank god Eidos had the sense to listen to their customers and take some of those boogie men out, it's the ones they left in that annoyed me but I certainly hadn't played such a dark, lonely and tripped out game as this before. They made the levels huge and it was great to revisit the medieval castles gaurded by the dopy, hungry, moaning soldiers. As much as I loved playing this game I can't help thinking that there could be more to it - especially with todays technology, great news then that they have, after all, decided to give us a third installent end of November 2003!

Thief 2 is a great game but not as good as the original. The main thing that I didnt like about this game from the 1st one is that its more "civilized". There are now fancy doors, year 2000 looking homes, and more fake weapons. It has much more missions, and the missions are designed better. Better story line than the original.

I love this game. It puts you in a time and place where cleverness and stealth are used instead of massive firepower. The scenes are awesome and the characters and AI just work. Not an easy novice game but will keep you playing for weeks. I really wish they'd come out with Theif 3 but alas, probably not to be.

much has changed in this game from it's first chapter. the storyline is great, much more interesting then the previous one and the movies became much better in the sence of content and lenght and preformance. but the really cool part is the maps. there are much more cool gimmics then in the first game such as hunted wrecked ships, after hearing the servents complain about stuff dissapearing you find out the attic is hunted by two murdered servants, whose bodies you can find hidden, as well as the letters those two lovers hide for eachother, just a small exemple, and the areas are just fascinating, they're much more characteristic, and you feel like you're involved in the game world. by characteristic i mean that they are done to the smalles detail. they are more realistic for exemple, in the docks you can be sure you could enter docking ships, offices and cargo hangars, in which you can be sure you'll find everything that should be there. some of the areas are just huge, imagine the mines with the orcs from the lord of the rings movie, it's the same magnitude of work. there's just one problem, it's much easier then the first. it's baisicly a good thing in a way cus you are free to explore without too much problems with the guards, but after all you don't need to hide in shadows too much. in the first game there were creatures you could be sure you don't want to f**k with because you'll die such as zombies who die only from fire or holy water arrows, which you'll probebly want to keep, or the skeletons that will surely kill you in a sword fight, and they were usually in groups. here however there are only few creatures you'd rather to avoid, and you usually encounter one guard per hearing range or room, so you can just kill him without any problem and no one will notice. but the missions themselves definetly push it into the background, you will robe a bank, investigate a murder area, kidnapp people, there are also some sequel missions that start exectly where the previous one ended, which add an adventure kind of atmosphere to the game cus you don't have time to visit the shop, you must use what you got from the first mission in the sequel and deal with the unknown. one of my fav. games.

For the person who loves blowing people away such as in a Doom-style game, then stop reading this review. This game isn't for you. If prefer to stealthily walk up behind a person and whack him unconscious this game is for you. You reprise your role as Garrett, master thief. Set in a time period which can only be described as medieval meets the steam age your ultimate goal is to uncover the plans of the city sheriff and a madman named Karras. Karras has made your life difficult. Why? Well it appears he is creating cyborg-like people and motorized machines that can be described as "steam run" terminators. Thus the name of the title, The Metal Age. These creations hinder your task as a thief by working as security guards, but also their is something much sinister behind the plans of Karras and his minions. Unlike the human guard who can be dispatched by knocking them out cold, or a quick arrow to the heart, these machines are much savvy. They are difficult to knock out, they are good at tracking you, and so requiring the use of your handy water arrows to kill the fire that runs these steam-driven "terminators". It takes a precise shot and thus adds to your challenge. Machines aside, one of the more intriguing missions requires you to sneak your friend into a castle to meet his lover who has been locked up by a cruel mistress, and to harm absolutely no one or the mission is finished. Of course how can you resist helping yourself to the valuables while inside the place...no harm there! Another challenging mission is following a guard (guards are your enemies, you ARE a wanted thief after all) in the shadows without being spotted. It will probably take you several tries. If you liked the first Thief you'll love this game. The graphics and colors have been improved and the video sequences are well done. I didn't care for fighting zombies in the first game and fortunately there is little of that here. If you are up to the challenge, Garrett and wealth await you!

Great action game. Although the scenario is a bit too futuristic for a medieval-based game, it still rocks, with great graphics, environnement and sound. This game is really intelligent, based on sneaking rather spilling blood. It changes from the Kill-destroy-butcher-eviscerate and exploding games. But Thief2 require quite a lot of patience and brain to play. See the Thief-The Dark Project rating also.
