One of the best racing games of all time. Mario Kart helped spawn the "kart" style of shoot 'em up racing.

Lovely graphics and courses. This is an especially fun game if you have two or more people to compete with. I have some great memories of playing with 3 other people on battle mode.

When i was younger when i had my N64 this was pretty sweet.

The spectacular Mario Kart series continued with style and substance on its second installment on the Nintendo 64. Although the riders were sprite-based, the courses were spectacularly polygonal and also filled with both creative new vistas and references to games of Mario past. The music was also very Mario-like and of course the sound effects were classic. With great single-player and even better multiplayer (such as the uber-fun Battle Mode), Mario Kart 64 certainly set the standard for racing games at the time--a standard that other games like Gran Turismo could not possibly reach.

Rainbow road is not nearly as good as in the original when they had no railing on most of the course. I still sometimes play this game when I have nothing better to do or when I am looking for some competition I play with my sisters.

Love this game, fun for hours on end. But Yoshi? No way. Bowser is the best!

You know you can have a successful game franchise when the predicessors to the original can prove to be superior to the original product. In all aspects, Mario Kart 64 is that much superior to the SuperNES classic and then some. Much of the beloved original gameplay is incorporated into this sequel along with great additions such as more unique and fun races, and more luscious landscapes. The multiplayer mode on this game became on of the first hints to game makers that group games will sell tremendously.

Its not as good as I expected it to be.The graphics are decent,the gameplay is just plain bad.There's no single player but to race,no secrets but the backtrack modes,and the voice-overs are annoying.IMO,Diddy Kong Racing is much better.

MarioKart is one of the funnest games of all time. I love it !

Smash Bros. was way better than this game.

it's a fun game i guess but i prefer supernintendo cuz its the classic one. i mean no nintendo game is better than super mario world. by the way- since when did Princess Toadstool become Peach? and what's with the Wario guy? where did HE come from?

Tight racing game

This is an excellent sequal to the Super Nintendo version. The tracks are challenging, the characters have neat voices and the music fits the theme of the tracks. The only thing missing is a race track creator/editor of some kind.

This game is a great multi-player game and is a drastic improvement from the orginal Super Nintendo version. Very fun to play and stirs up a lot of friendly competition. The only problem is that if you play it a lot the limited number of tracks (16) get kind of old.

This game was a real let down. I thought it would be a lot more exciting. All this game is, or was, is a good idea. It should have been better developed.

It is a classic, always fun game. Good graphics, sound, and battle mode is tight. Weapons are good. Good range of easy-hard. Make the sequel- it's gonna' be a hit.

I love this game. They give you a variety of players to choose from. You can select grade type; beginner, intermediate, advanced. It has about six different lands to choose from. Great game.

I didn't like the fact that they mixed a fighting game with a racing game. I would like it to be more realistic. I really am not into to battle games. If it involved more skill the game would be better.

I gave the N64's MarioKart 64 game a good rating because it's a repeat of the Super Nintendo game MarioKart which everybody loved. The graphics and options have improved as well as the character selection. Another enjoyable feature is that the game responds better and doesn't have a tendency to freeze. It also is easier to control and you can do advance movements with analog control.

I don't get why everyone loves this game? To me it is just an average racing car game. Not bad, but not extrodinary either. If you play it often, you could get hooked but so can other video games such as Outrunner. Overall, an okay game.

Mario Kart 64 is another great party game. The animation is colorful and it has 3D graphics. The sound is fantastic and the gameplay is fun and easy. Whether I'm playing alone or with my friends, I will not get tired of this game.

I think that Mario Kart 64 is a great game, even though it may typically be for young kids. I like that you can choose from so many different characters and they all work in different ways. I also enjoy the ability to choose your own level and setting.

While in your dorm room or at your apartment, this game is great for stirring up conversation and friendly competition. Try this ("The Dinner Circuit"): Play 4 player and who ever comes in last place after a circuit has to buy or cook dinner for the other 3 players. I have earned Chinese food and Whoppers from my roomates. Ready, set....EAT!
