Unbiased?! You've got to be shitting me! Second only to the NYT for blatant one-sided reporting. If they aren't skewing the news, they're making it up. Latest casualty, Ron Borges. That makes it 4 or 5 plagiarists/fiction writers fired/supended...damn it's so hard to tell when it happens more frequently than a Ted "Every Man For Himself" Kennedy misstep.

Once employed Tom Oliphant, liberal quack and fashion disaster. Mr. Oliphant, whose voice alone could make a hummingbird sleep, defended Don Imus' latest racial bomb by implying he couldn't hate blacks because he gives money to asthma causes, his wife works at an East Harlem community center, and he once interviewed Bill Russell. A more hypocritical position this dickhead couldn't take.

Frankly, the only reason this rag is still in operation is because it's "competion" is the Boston Herald. I mean, when one of your top columnists is Margery Eagan and the paper's main attraction is who the "girls" on the "Inside Track" are pissing on, your shit is pretty weak. Still, Howie Carr and Joe Fitz (best columnist in the city!) at least bring it out of the "irrelevant" category, and its sports page is better than average.

All that said, the Globe's sports section is one of the best in the country and it's somewhat worth reading for that alone. That is when Dan Shaughnessy isn't blowing himself up and Ron "Pats Suck" Borges isn't writing, period.

Ironically, it was probably the toughest paper on Kerry in 2004.

A very good paper, one of the best in the country. I prefer the Herald's sport section, however, particularly when it comes to the Red Sox. The Globe seems to get mean real quick, and relentlessly so. I can certainly understand how the frustration of covering the Red Sox could make the most beneficent reporter a little nasty, but they run it into the ground sometimes.

My local paper the Boston Globe is a fantastic paper. It's unbiased, covers every topic imaginable with very accurate info and insight. Also, it has, in my opinion, the best sports section in the country.

It's in Boston. What more do you need to say? When have they been right about anything?

Pretty good paper. The sports section is phenominal. Bob Ryan and Charlie Pierce are among the best for a reason.

Not too bad, but at this time we don't need serious news in this world, and this newspaper delivers too much of it.

They could cover a bit more national news, but overall, I think the Boston Globe is a pretty decent newspaper.

The Globe is summed up best by their own slogan "some people choose to turn to the Globe." They are never really better than mediocre, despite the fact that Boston is a thriving & energized city and metro area.

The Golbe's Sunday sports section is among the best in the country with sometimes full page articles for all of the major sports covering multiple topics within the sport.
