Once a great crusading voice for social justice and civil rights. Now a shrill outlet for Uncle Rupert's fascist fantasies.

How the mighty have fallen.

This paper defines the American tabloid! I don't read it for news, I don't read it for opinion(I have my own!), I read it, when I do, for fun. The headlines alone are creative enough to make it worthwhile.

A wonderful Right Wing Tabloid by Rupert Murdoch. If you want something awesome to read for the news, get this. Great editorials, gossip, plus it has news on the horse races, great cartoons and sports, well written- I really ought to subscribe. Way better than New York Times. If I want hard news I watch CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CNBC, or the radio-KFI,KNX.But when you are waking up and drinking your coffee, this is what you want to be reading- the greatest tabloid/newspaper on Earth.

Tabloid filled trash, a giant Boston Herald, also definitely a right wing paper, but that's not why they're bad, they could be put out by the Symbionese Liberation Army for all I care. It just sucks. One with mostly horrible sports writers, particularly a bellicose Neanderthal named Kevin McKernan.

When Brezshnev died and Andropov took over, the headline read "Terror Chief snags Brez Job." Never picked up another copy.

While I don't typically read the Post for hard news I do enjoy reading the editorials and am glad to see that it has improved so dramatically since before Rupert Murdoch purchased it. Overall, it's a good paper that does it's job of being concise and informative.

Outstanding paper. I have starting buying it at the newstand for the last month. The editorials are top-notch. Page 6 is great for gossip. I especially like Jay Greenburg for National Hockey League coverage. I will continue to pick it up.

As much of a need to start my day as my 20 oz. coffee. Excellent sports coverage, informative editorials and even fun gossip. Sean DeLeones' cartoons are usually worth the 25 cents.

Best sports pages, editorials and gossip in the city. #1 in increased circulation up to 627,000 copies daily, crushes the liberal rag the Daily News. The sensationalism of the covers doesn't overshadow the well written editorial pages and news reports. Deborah Orin is a great reporter. Page 6 is fun and Deleonas' cartoons are hysterical. Just a real fun paper.

Perhaps the worst daily newspaper in the country. An embarassment to the city it supposedly serves. Nothing more than a Murdoch mouthpiece, a propaganda sheet for those of the drooler Rush Windbag frame of mind. This newspaper is only well suited in one respect: put it on the floor and say, "Here, puppy."

A trashy newspaper made for the illiterate, not only is it really right-wing, but its a tool. It's owned by Rupert Murdoch, the billionaire Media Tycoon, he owns Fox and several other newspapers, which he makes sure send out just the message he wants.

Sometimes writers and editors try making one newspaper out of another one. In this case it was to create a better NY Times. Well, it didn't work because I don't enjoy reading this paper half as much as I do the Times. It just focuses on one main subject, and like stays there throughout. It's ok when you're reall in the mood for one specific topic, but that's it.

The New York Post is good for what it is--Headlines-- The Post doesn't claim to be the best, most informative hard news paper so there's no reason to judge it as such. It deal mostly with the city and has a real tongue in cheek attitude about a lot of things. I really like their ad campaign years ago where they actually made fun of themselves by playing up the image that most people have of them as being sort of seedy and unseemly. The ads also played on the fact that a whole lot of people read the Post and pretend that they don't. Long live the Post!

It's pretty pathetic when the best thing you can say about a paper is that they have an excellent celebrity gossip column. They do a decent job on local NYC news (better than the Times, in some ways, not as good as the Post), but their right-wing political slant is so transparent it tarnishes the rest of the paper. Murdoch should confine his campaigning to the editorial page, and report the news without bias.
