Comes out with some of the best lines on the show.

I like that when Abe tells a story, it doesn't go anywhere. Sometimes, he pauses and takes a nap, other times his stories make no scene either.

I also love his various complaint letters,

I love how he admits to being a cross dresser during war times. He even hit on Hitler.

He's hilarious. "...Back in 19dikity2...we had to call it 'dikity' back then 'cause the Kaiser stole our word for 'twenty'"

Abe is such a great character. I can't believe he isn't ranked higher. He's definitely funnier than Lisa and Comic Book Guy. He's on my top 10 list.

Perhaps not Grandpa's best line, but my personal favorite is from the episode "Sideshow Bob's last gleaming"-(This is the air show episode during which Bob is holding the town hostage with a nuclear bomb). The MP's are searching the base for Bob when they open the porta-potty door to find a confused Grandpa Simpson who exclaims, "This elevator only goes to the basement! And someone made an aaaawful mess down there..." Abe is in my personal top five character list for that line alone.

Abe Simpson is the second oldest character on the simpsons. He lives at a Retirement Home and is always having a fight with anothe elder there. He is Homer Simpson's father whose wife ran away. He is usually alone and rarely visits the family. In one episode, Burns stole oil from the school and something caused the retirement home which left Abe to stay at the Simpson Family's house. He is uasually funny and rarely gives the family advice. The best episode was where Abe and Homer went out to sell a tonic that would make you fall in love. and they went to the house where Homer grew up and argued about which Simpson was a screw-up. When the house burned down, they both realized that they were both screw-ups. A classic character.

Old and senile. Great. One of my favorite things with Abe Simpson is when he is writing a letter to TV editors in the first season: "I am disgusted with the way old people are depicted on television. We're not all vibrant, fun-loving sex maniacs. Many of us are bitter, resentful individuals, who remember the good old days when entertainment was bland and inoffensive."

All I can do is laugh!! :)

Grampa Simpson is fun. I love when he writes his letters of complaint; he's a lot like my grandmother.
