Apu is so funny... My favorite episode with him is when they went to Canada to Flandersville.

He shouldn't have cheated on his wife!

his character has gotten better over the years since he had all them kids. hes the stereotype of convience store owners in certains parts of the country

Apu is hilariously stereotypical with a hint of real life.

He was funny before he got married with children but ever since then he's gotten less funny and more paranoid. He is a staunch Hindu who doesn't seem to mind going to a Catholic church.

I fail to see what's so funny about him; his only funny appearance was when he looses the kweek-e-mart due to Homer's fault.

He used to be in my top ten list, but ever since they gave him a wife and kids, I haven't found him as funny. My favorite Apu moment is the "Who needs the Kwik-E-Mart?" song.

The episode where his wife had 8 babies is a scream everytime I see it.

I think Apu is a good character, but in comparison to other greats he doesn't, his lines just aren't that funny. He has had some entertaining moments, but most of them are funny because Homer is involved and he is simply pointing out Homer's antics. I can't agree with him being number 2 overall, he shouldn't even be in the top five.

Apu is another great character on The Simpsons. He owns the Kwik-E-Mart, He has a wife and 8 children. He has been shot a few times and he is from India.

The one where Paul and Linda McCartney guest star is possibly the best one. Apu claims that he was the 5th Beatle. Apu is a fixture on the Simpsons and his character enhances the experience.

Yes Homer will always be number one for the Simpsons, but Apu rocks!! I love Apu, my favorite out of all the characters!!!!!! :)

He's pretty funny. I liked him before they married him off to Manjolia.

"Oh, Hallelujah, our problems are solved! We have banana bread!" Apu is upbeat even in his sarcasm! As much more that a single-sided stock character, Apu adds charisma, optimistism and hilarious antics to an already fantastic show!

I wouldn't say that Apu was one of my favorite characters on the Simpsons but he is certainly an integral part of the overall Simpsons experience. I agree with another poster that episodes that deal with him as the main character fall a little flat. Apu is best as the short cameo guy, the one liners that often in and of themselves aren't that funny but said with Apu's intonation leave you with no choice but to laugh. Such as "please do not feed my god a peanut" or when Homer smacks one out of the stadium with his wonderbat and Apu Chimes in with "Such a mighty wallop" It just wouldn't be the same without Apu.

Apu was a very funny character to begin with, but recent episodes with him as the main character are very painful experiences.
