Is THIS pointless talk fest STILL on?

This is what is known as "REPORTING THE NEWS." NEWS FLASH! If more people listened to journalist instead of goomers like Rush, O'Riley, and Sean we'd stop electing idiots presidents

Lehrer is, without a doubt, the only truly objective journalist left on television. Having written and produced at PBS, NBC and CNN and currently teaching Critical Thinking, I can say it will be a sad day when he joins McNeil in the newsroom in the sky. His team is clearly chosen for their integrity, intelligence and seasoning!

Pretty much the only serious news program on the TV today. Those that think it is boring are like a teenager trying coffee and saying it tastes bad...try it again kid.

The most indepth, intellectual, articulate, provocative and informative news program on television. If you want to understand a topic so that you can form your own opinion rather than having your opinion formed for you or influenced by snippits, then this is the information source for you. Excellent.

A recent survey indicated about 1/3 of the shows viewers are conservatives, about 1/3 are moderates, and 1/3 are liberals (see Pew Center). If two opposing views swinging bats at one another is your cup of tea, this is not your show. Personally, thoughtful, reasoned discussions of important, complex issues is perfect for me.

Now duller than C-Span. 2o minute in depth reports on any subject induce sleep. Some of the female reporters are freaks and unbearable to watch. They need another pro to co-anchor with Jimbo. And some better writers. God what a drag!

A truly superb news show (and I mean NEWS, not that stuff called news which is really entertainment). Watching this show can be an unsettling reminder of just how blurred the boundary has become between news and entertainment on the major networks.

This is what news was when people knew the news. Excellent show based on facts and not opinion. Anyone who voted this show a 1 must have been disappointed that there was real news and not Michael Jackson case coverage or stories on who picks up the White House dog Barney's poop.

While a bit long-winded and more of a TV talk show than a news show, NewsHour is usually balanced in its reporting of the news, and usually tries to let both sides have their say when debating the top stories. Lehrer is good at reporting the news and has an able team backing him up. Overall, NewsHour is a good show all around if you're looking for the most important stories in the news and a good debate on current events.

I really like this show. It gives me the days news with more analysis than the other newcasts, I suppose because it is an hour long. Also covers issues not mentioned by the mainstream media.

I consider this the number one news show on TV because of the balanced reporting of issues. They achieve this by bringing in panels of diverse views in a broad spectrum of interests.
