Was this guy ever funny? I've watch him a number of times but he's never been able to get so much as a chuckle out of me. I'd rather watch documentaries about giant ants in South America. Bill, YOU SUCK!!

He is anti-religious by his own statement, he is on the board of directors of PETA, he is a staunch supporter of Isreal, he is probably a vegan, and he is a strong supporter of Barack Obama. Are you looking for balance here?

Bill Mahr's brand of highly-libertarian, slightly-liberal comedy is hilarious, I LOVE his "New Rules" rants, those are CLASSICS of American comedy, but as a real political force, he is probably more harmful than helpful. He urges young people NOT to to vote, BAD IDEA, he actually believed that Arriana Huffington was going to beat Ahhhnold in the race for California's governor in the special election after the tossed-out Gray, that's just SiLLy, I mean DIDN'T see THAT landslide coming!? Still, I'd rather watch Bill Mahr than anything on FOX, in fact, I'd rather stick dull dirty recently-used chopsticks in my eyeballs than watch Sean Hannity do ANYTHING! As a pitch-man for atheism & libertarianism & as a comedian, Bill Mahr is pretty d@mned funny. Go to YouTube and site search for "New Rules" and spend 2 or 3 hours laughing HARD, laugh like a stoned smurf ! Hve fun ! Bye ! ='D

TYPICAL LIBERAL BASHING OF AMERICAN VALUES. THE SAD PART IS THAT HE BELIEVES HE'S SMARTER THAN THE REST OF AMERICA AND KNOWS BETTER. BILL MAHR'S CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE IS SO OBVIOUS AND HARD TO LISTEN TO. ENOUGH ALREADY, STOP WHINING.

Sometimes he hit the mark, sometimes he missed. . .but boy, those who love to scream about how they're oh-so 'politically incorrect' with their 'unpopular opinions' weren't in any kind of a rush to defend free speech when Bill offended their sensibilities. . .'free speech' only when you like it, eh?

Every liberal I know likes this show and assures me that I'd like it. It's fair. It's honest and blunt. Both sides get to say what they want. Watched it a dozen times on ABC, then the more raw, vulgar version, on HBO. Maher calling himself an "independent" is like Michael Jordan calling himself a professional baseball player. Almost no criticism of any liberal person or idea goes un-mocked. Every conservative is fair game for the cheapest shot and ridiculously unfair criticism, you wonder why any conservative would ever appear on it. I guess, maybe they don't anymore. But they save their cheapest shots and their nastiest mis-characterizations for President Bush. Which is ok, it's politically incorrect. The name implies a non-partisan (or at least bi-partisan) format. This is anything but that.

I like Bill Maher's show. He's good at getting at the big picture problems in this country in a funny, generally intelligent way. However, some of his opinions are a bit uninformed and weak. It's strange that he can be cynical but naive in many respects. He went over the line after 9/11 when he called the hijackers courageous, but still, the guy's funny in a cynical kind of way. I like the new show on HBO better; the hour long format gives him a chance to address the issues better. Better guests too; the old show was way too short.

I'm a fan of Bill Maher, and I like his new show, but I wasn't too hot on Politically Incorrect. My main problem was that the show was too short. A half hour is not long enough to have a serious (and uninterrupted) about some of the important issues facing our country. Secondly, Maher wasn't a very good moderator, and hardly ever maintained order. The guests talking over each other constantly and his frequent habit of talking over them made for nothing but a second rate shouting contest instead of a serious discussion. The only decent part of the show was Maher's candor and entertaining style. However, his line of guests were nothing but dimwits too wrapped up in their own ego, with absolutely no idea of the real problems facing our country and the world.

Watching Maher comment on current events is almost as bad as listening to Streisand's nonsense. He's just not that good at it. He's hostile to anyone he disagrees with (not funny) and does not appear to have more than a high school level of understanding of the latest issues. Here's a guy who blew his last show on abc with his bone-head comments, only to out-do himself at a Hillary benefit with his Bill Clinton infidelity jokes. I'd say stick to your comedy but then he's not really that funny either. Oh wait, I forgot, the f-word, carpet muncher and jew jokes are really funny. What would we do without HBO? As for his latest condesdending tirade against southern voters, I think the problem there is a democrat problem, not a yankee problem. The south sure went for Reagan and Dole/Kemp (CA, KS, NY), but Gore (TN) lost every southern state in 2000. Maher should stick to what he's good at but beware, because I hear prostitutes have been known to hit back occaisionally.

Bill Maher is so far left he's in oncoming traffic. Unfortunately for him that position is a precursor to a head on collision. He is despicable in his much less than moral stance. He thinks he's smart...but in reality he's just another fool. He's one of those idiots who make being gay analogous to be being black. Really being gay is analogous to pedophilia, bestiality and the like. Please cancel Bill's (platform) show.

Sometimes Bill Maher could completely piss me off and if he didn't one of his guests was sure to, but what a great forum for current events. Great show. I was really shocked when the network cancelled the show. His remark was definately off the wall but that was the nature of the show and no worse than dozens of other equally ofensive remarks that he made during previous shows.

Our country has been successful enough to develop technology that allows air superiority, how is this cowardly? My brother is with the 82nd Airborne - they are dropped into harms way to acquire MILITARY targets, not civilian targets like the WTC. Stop focusing on the men in the planes and realize that bin Laden and a sophisticated terrorist network with a lot of money attacked defenseless people. Bill fight for your country as I did before you decide what's cowardly, and be thankful that people like me sacrificed so much so you could insult us. I'm just glad they cancelled your show.

This show had nothing to do with "important issues"; it was nothing but a vehicle for various losers to get face time on TV. Everyone shouts out a "cute", "clever", or "thoughtful" quote and then they move on to the next "topic". The worst part about it was having people who know nothing at all spouting off at the mouth, followed by a reasonable comment from another person, only to have BOTH viewpoints treated as "equal". I'm surprised people watched this and fell for it; these are not intelligent conversations and the panel solves NOTHING. Oh, by the way, Bill Maher somehow got uglier as the years went by. Amazing.

I've been a fan of Bill Maher since I first saw his stand-up in the mid 80s. He is what stand up comedy lacks too much up. Someone who is smart, has an opinion, and has command of the language to share it all in a manner that makes us think about, and laugh at, thing that are in, and of themselves not funny. I have also been a fan of Politically Incorrect since it's inception at Comedy Central in 93. What a great show. An open discourse regarding anything, and everything. Guest from all political schools of thought from any and all walks of life. And most of all it was "Politically Incorrect." Which is to say, it was unsanitized, impolite, and at it's very heart - HONEST. To be a current affairs talk show host who is fired (cancelled is so politically correct) for practicing free speech at a time when corporations, and the Bush regime, are exorting us all the need to sent the military to "fight for our freedoms," to me seems at the very least, disengenuous. It is but another example of how corporate, and political America, have no respect for our founding principles. I'm going to stop watching ABC. It shouldn't be too hard. I can't think of a single thing I'll miss.

Let's see... He's pro smoking rights and is someone who has called the government traitors to the tobacco companies, and people who sue tobacco companies idiots who don't deserve a penny. He's pro death penalty. He complains all the time about feminists and their agenda. He preaches about personal accountability. Oh yeah; what an ultra socialist, left wing nutbag, this guy... Is Maher a conservative? No. But calling him a socialist or a radical liberal just because he liked Clinton and doesn't like Bush jr. is absolutely idiotic. I find Bill Maher to be funny, open-minded, genuine, rude, callous, a little sexist, brilliant and brave. I loved his old show, and I think his new one will be even better, as he won't be handcuffed by the silly restrictions of regular television.

we pride ourselves on being a country founded on principles such as freedom of speech and opportunity for all. We hold this over fascists regimes and "godless" terrorist states. But when one of the outspoken freethinkers come out with statements that do shock yet make us think on our claims and beliefs we're quick to sign him off as just another one of de'm crazy liberals. They've incited a response from you rather it be good or bad bill maher caused alot of individuals to think in alot more ways then just the one's given to them including myself. BUt in typical fashion lets cast blame and throw stones cause the big bad comedic doesn't agree.

It was sad to see this show go, ABC was always hesitant on keeping this show on the air after the first season, but why. His show epitomizes gutsy talk TV. I believe his "lobbying cruise missiles from 2000 miles away" statement was the death blow to his program, which caused the wussy mouse to pull the plug, what a shame.

Bill Maher is one of the worst people alive. His shows consist of a "gang" of guests who are opinioned and opinionated in the same way as himself bashing and censoring the one guest who expresses an opinon different from theirs. It's horrrible. His jokes aren't funny (see above concerning O.J. killing Katherine Harris), he is bitter, hateful, contemptuous and loathsome. Apparently, America finally figured that out and he has slunk back into the stench-ridden cesspool he came from.

If this website is all about people's opinions, than how can PI not get a perfect 5.0. It was a show about people's opinions. I completely disagree with a lot of what Bill Maher says. One point that sticks out is his belief that children who kill another kid should be put to death. However where else do such a wide variety of people get to argue their points and state their opinions. The show was great. If Bill Maher had to go, i would have liked the show to stay with a new host.

It wouldn't be possible to agree with everything Bill said on PI but at least he had the balls to sit there everynight and voice his opinion for all to hear. Bill Maher is not what I would call a bright person just from watching his show. It's a good idea for a show though....and yet sometimes not. I'll admit, when you watch it, you wish you were there to put in your say. Yet, the show appers to be one sided most of the time. Usually, it's two to three liberals, an indepedent, and one conservative. Talk about an unfair advantage. Not to mention the fact that some of the guests that are on there are clueless when it comes to issues (Super Dave, Tom Green, etc.). That's when the show is a bad idea.

I loved Politically Incorrect. No I did not agree with Bill Maher and all of his views on the variety of subjects. I did not disagree with him all the time either. I loved the free flow of conversation so missing anyplace else on TV. The guests on his show expressed ideas that were too risky for other shows to express. In our right wing dominated media, it's refreshing to see someone that gives an alternative point of view in a logical way. Nothing he says is just in spite of it but have reasons behind it. He isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's a great advocate for free speech. He makes people think. So to Bill Maher I say, continue to piss people off, it's the only way to make them think.

I may not have agreed with everything Bill said but it was thought provoking to say the least. What a concept for a show called Politically Incorrect, having a host that has opinions that are controversial, didn’t Bill know that free thinking isn’t allowed. Now what do we have in its place, especially one that covered both sides of a topic? Answer: Nothing

When this was an original HBO program, I would tune in and enjoy. When it switched to ABC, I still tuned in occasionally, but somewhere along the line, "PI" seemed to have lost its way. My problem with this show is not so much the fact that Bill Maher leans to the left--hey, this is America, and he can think and say what he wants. My problem is that "PI", at some point in time, got away from its original premise of letting proponents of both sides of an issue have their say. It almost seemed that it became a tool for ABC corporate's anti-conservative views, to the point where it was typically a "4-on-1" free-for-all, in which the Republican/Libertarian was either ignored, booed, called names, or laughed at in condescension. Politically Incorrect? In its later years, hardly. More like a politically-correct love-fest. Better luck next time, Bill.

The fact that we can no longer accept having our thoughts challenged is yet another sign of the ignorant taking over our society. If you do not like having your beliefs challenged, I understand. You are just not all that secure in your beliefs. That is okay. But I suggest you stick with Jay Leno and other fine talk shows that make no attempt at intelligent conversation. Just keep in mind that this is America. It is based on a grand experiment of freedom and free thought - at least it used to be. If you try to boycott or shut down thoughts, or opinions, you do not agree with - stop and think what happens when someone disagrees with your thoughts. Cause maybe, just maybe they are not perfect either. In this country we are supposed to be able to say whatever we think. There are plenty of counries, most in the Middle East, that control their people's speech through fear of retribution. Our borders are always open to those wishing to leave. Happy trails.
