UPDATE ! Ricki has started being a co-producer on her show..and things have improved so much. The topics aren't all stupid and it is even fun to watch now. I highly recommend her to the younger crowd. A very good talk show..and an even better talk show host compared to the competition on the market...

I have watched the Ricki Lake Show on and off since inception and overall thought it did an o.k. job until the show that aired today (12/04/03) on homosexual teens. She did an extremely poor job on giving equal time to both viewpoints, those whose beliefs were for homosexuality and those whose beliefs were against based on their convictions and obedience to God's Word. She was extremely biased in her own personal standing on the subject which was for. I felt truly sorry for the stepfather who showed his love, respect and convictions for the Lord God Almighty in verbalizing his own opinions and then pretty much being attacked for them. God is willing to receive anyone who comes to Him in faith, and as Christians we should love and accept others no matter what their background. YET, HOMOSEXUALILTY IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN IN SCRIPTURE (LEVITICUS 18:22, GOD is talking to Moses and says DO NOT PRACTICE HOMOSEXUALITY; IT IS A DETESTABLE SIN.) Society does not set the standard for God's Law; GOD'S LAW SETS THE STANDARD FOR SOCIETY. So, please Ricki, in the future, let us Christians have the same ample time that you give others so that we are not unfairly judged for our beliefs and convictions also. May the love of GOD and the communion of the Holy Spirit enter your heart.

I don't understand how and why a fat, untalented idiot whose claim to fame was a prominent role in a John Waters flick of 20 years ago qualifies as a talk show host. Just think of the thousands of talk show wannabes who are truly talented and qualified and will never get a shot because pinheads like this are clogging up the airwaves. Dear Ricki, For some years I have had a low self esteem, My husband died 16 years ago, leaving me with four kids to raise. After he died,I went back to school (I got married at 14) and eventually became a teacher.My problem is that I don't have a life and I feel totally hopless with ever having a romantic relationship. My students care about me and said I should write you about a make-over.I was engaged a few months ago but he dumped me in favor of a younger beautiful woman. I feel really awful about myself. I no longer have friends (my best friend took my boyfriend) and I feel really ugly. I think if something was changed about me, I could find happiness. Ricki Lake needs to gone off the air. Her show use to be something I would look at off and on but not any more. I was shocked to find out that Sally got the axe, Donahue got the axe, and Jenny got the axe. All within a 12-month period, now it's Ricki's turn.

Ricki show titled "Teens traped by beauty" was more than great. The teens thought there beauty was the key to successfull life. So, they drop off school! what was brilliant about the show was brining a real-life example of models who fell in the same trap before who described the dark side of this life style. It's usually mission impossible to convince teen agers in 99.9% the time. But this time, the mircale happened! because these former models were so sincere and concerned to warn these teens of the unpredictable future awaiting them if they didn't have proper eduaction. The idea of the show is so new. Please Ricki keep on being pioneer on tackleing serious issues! we have one Jerry Springer and he's more than enough!!!

The Ricki Lake Show is a good show. If it was not a good show then it would not be in its eight season. For those who leave those bad comments don't have to watch the Ricki Lake show. You have a lot of good Talk shows. Not all talk shows are for everybody. That is why you have different ones. And they cover the same stuff and sometimes they cover different stuff. Every body does not want to watch fights and bogus stuff all the time. That's why you have a variety of talk shows. Just as some people may not like the Ricki lake show some people may not like you. And you have those negative folks who criticize just to do it. I figure as long as she is doing her thing and bring smiles to people or even laughs and help people when ever she can her work is done. No it may not be the best show but its on Tv.

The Ricki Lake show use to be a good show at one time when she first started out but now the show has become garbage along with Jerry Springer show,her show now mostly targets unintelligent young blacks from the inner city and have them to make fools of themselves on national tv in which she dont mind because that boosts her ratings which her show is mostly concerned about, they will do what ever it takes to boost the ratings, and by having uneducated young blacks on her show yelling making fools of themselves graps young views and they see that it helps their ratings so they go with it, so my comments of her show is that its trash all the way.

I love Ricki. She is so awesome. She really cares about her guests, and helps them after the show. I commend her for doing so many topics on teen pregnancy, weight loss, and dedicating her time to helping out of control teens. She was great at the V-DAY, and I heard she got 3 awards this year for excellence in the media with a positive image. I read her show saved the lives of 115 would-be abandoned babies too. Ricki Lake used to be a really good talk show. Then about a year or so ago it started getting really trashy. It is now almost as bad as Jerry Springer I mean come on. You cant get much more sleezy people to go onto a talk show. And Ricki is encouraging their bad behaviors. I dont like this talk show anymore. It has went to sh*t.

I am commenting on May 11th show! "Pregnant & Partying"! I see how emotional you get on this type of topic! Also, congratulations on your 2nd child! This was a very emotional show for me also! Since I had a hysterectomy at the age of 17, (due to taking to many diet pills)I am not able to have any children! It makes me very angry towards the young girls that get pregnant, thinking they know it all! But yet when their ignorance brings them to carrying a precious package with no Love or care or concern for this precious gift I truly am devastated by their reactions! They don't realize that this will all come back to haunt them someday! For when this child turns of age he/she will want to find their biological mother! Hopefully for the childs sake, their findings will not bring them to a grave sight!

I don't know why, but I can see myself watching Ricki Lake like once a week, at least! I don't know why, but the show is kind of enjoyable. I know that the subjects are totally fake and annoying and stupid, but the show is watchable.

I used to love the Ricki Lake show, but I have to admit that the sow is sinking to Jerry springer lows! There ARE way too many cheating triangles and not enough serious issues which is what was great about the show in the beginning! I used to really like the show, however; it's getting to the point where the topics are so similiar and so monotanous that I just don't bother anymore. I did, however watch it today and the topic was "I dont want my lesbian ex to raise my child". Ricki reamed the men and took the girls word on them being wrong but totally supported the women even when they acted like trash on the show. RICKI, you should do your job and quit trying to shove your opinions on all your viewers. You went off on an obvious deadbeat dad but totally ignored the fact that one of your guests, a lesbian, was just as much a deadbeat mom. I am tired of you people trying to make it your job to make sure the country agrees that its okay to be gay and a parent. How confusing for a kid. I cant wait to see the talk shows when these kids are like fifteen years old. Right now these guys have no voice. But just wait.
