HopSing was my favorite..Plus as a little girl I loved the horses. Remember Little Joe's pinto or the time he got the Arabian Stallion..no you don't remember the horses?

Bonanza was the best western on tv at its time. I grow up watching the re-runs. I had a crush on Adam and my sister liked Little Joe. I liked the family theme. I admit at times the stories were a little far fetch- but in all it was an enjoyable show. I did not watch Bonanza after the 6th season because Adam was my favorite character. I think the best seasons were 1-6.

Liked it at first but quickly became too Preachy. Always an agenda.

Seemed good at the time. But in watching re-runs, the fake sets are so obvious and the acting is not that good. Also, were these three brothers queers? They never had any interaction with women so in looking back I think they were all fudge packers.

it is one of the better old shows

Bonanza was a show with great heart and that is why it is still so popular today, not only in America but around the world. It ran for a massive 14 series and launched Mike Landon on his higely successful career. After series 6, where Pernell Roberts disappeared into the nebulous world of the TV extra, Lorne, Dan and Mike proved the show could survive the loss of a major character without suffering a ratings loss. A great show.

Where theres Hoss theres sure to be a hearty meal nearby,lol...Great show, with wonderful characters... The newer version of this show that was produced by PAX tv was an insult to the original. Some deluded writer or producer decided to rewrite history and turn Ben Cartwright into a spineless and politcally correct anti gun, wimp! The original series stands well on it's own without the revisiont fantasy of the new shows writers. The lost episodes of Bonanza were somewhat lacking in comparision to the original series. Did anyone actually like Adam, I wonder? I preferred the addition of Guy Williams to the show for about 4 episodes as a cousin of Bens he was to have replaced Pernell Roberts as another leading male character. Its unfortunate that Guy was replaced with Pernell Roberts as Adam once again...Could anyone chew someone out in Chinese while serving up a hot plate of freshly baked biscuts than better Hop Sing???

I'm not a big western fan. Bonanza is probably the best or most tolerable of all the western shows because it focused on family and had a nice mix of humor. The Cartwrights were a nice family to watch over the years.

A good show if you watch the old ones..I think all they show here in L.A. is the junk ones. Anyway the old shows were shot outside and what great backgrounds they had. Later on you only saw brief shots outside..most of the time they are at home on that phony ranch or inside another house or hotel. etc.

This is an excellent show to bring up your family on. It's wholesome, shows high morals, family love, a family that will defend what is theirs, protect those who can't protect themselves, etc. It is also a show that has alot of action, and western drama that everyone looks for in a show. It was a well rounded show with something for everyone.

This show was total garbage. Just an excuse to promote color programming so that Mom and Dad would ante up the pricey cost of a color TV in the late 50s and early 60s. The actors, excepting Dan Blocker, were totally unconvincing, and the scripts were always so tired and routine. A good deal of this show was shot on cheesy soundstages, which runs counter to the usual practice of having Westerns, as they are usually outdoor sagas, shot in natural light in the open. The result is that the look of Bonanza is totally synthetic and artificial. Even the color looks mushy. And Lorne Greene (a total bore) and Michael Landon (one of the biggest no-talents ever to become successful on the small screen) were enough to make me barf when I was 10. You can only imagine how nauseating I find them in retrospect. The fact that this show was so popular and ran for so long speaks volumes about our typical, base, unsophisticated American taste in pop culture: if it's mindless, unchallenging, immediately recognizable and easily digestible to the typical American moronic mind, it's a hit.

What an awsome show!! I used to hate westerns but whenever Bonanza was on, ever since I was little, it was a real treat to watch. Bonanza is my favorite show for so many reasons. The Cartwright's high moral Character, how they always helped the underdog, and of course their tight closeness as a family. Ben's constant care and worry for his sons always touched my heart and it was always what I wanted for myself. The closeness between the brothers was also very neat especially between Hoss and Joe. Bonanza was a wonderful show and it is an irreplacablle show in my heart.

As a person who is not normally in to westerns I will say I like this one best.

I watch it twice every day, except for weekends when it's not on. Its on pax because pax is the only chnnel that seems to show anything thats wholesome and good for the family, I'm glad for pax, and it's my favorite station. It has to be a good show for it to be on reruns from so long ago. It's last season was about 30 years ago, Yet it's still going strong, And a new show has blossomed from it. It's about when their younger. And there have been so many people that have fallen in love with the show, theirs a group with over 700 members all dedicated to watching bonanza! I for one love it, And always will!

What can there be said about this Classic TV Show that hasn't already been said. I was in my early teens when Bonanza aired for the first time. I was hooked, never missed an episode, Sunday night with "Little Joe" what girl would want to miss that. I love the western life style, I admired the love that the Cartwrights as a family had for their land. Bonanza and the Cartwrights gave every American family something in which they could be proud of whether is was just having a TV show that they could watch together or even something on a smaller scale like sisters fighting over who was the cutest Little Joe, or Adam and then later came Candy. I could go on for days about this Classic but I will stop with, Keep those Re-Runs coming so we never forget

Bonanza is now rerunning on Pax Tv. That is not a good sign.

BEST OF THE WESTERNS. GREAT CASTING!

An incredible legacy was left to future generations by the Cartwrights. Four decades since its inception and still we are debating its virtues. That must mean something. Have a good one. Lillian

The best western, in fact the best family show to ever grace the TV. This show also hosted the most gorgeous family member - Adam Cartwright.

Wonderful cast and characters.

Great cast, great stories...something for eveyone...The Cartwrights rule with an iron fist when they have to, but with a velvet glove when given their'druthers.
